Chicago Senior Football Final

(Oldest Posts First)

Does anyone know who won the Chicago Final? There was a lot of talk on social media for the last month or so about this particular championship with so many big names heading to the Windy City but I can't find anything on it today.

The final between Parnells and some other team was being streamed live but throw in was delayed for an hour until 11pm Irish time which was a bit late for me.

Strangely there's no mention of the result on any of the Chicago GAA social media platforms.

Thanks very much Cockney_Cat, I'll watch that later. That was a big defeat for Parnells, they were strong favourites I believe with Rian O'Neill and Conor Meyler playing for them. I'll be interested to see who their opponents had in their ranks.

What was the cost of Cavan's senior football team this year? Or for that matter, the AI winning Kerry team, and Limerick team in hurling?

You can't compare Counties made up of indigenous players there for the long term with 2 month makey up teams of semi pro junketeers.

I'll compare who I like if it comes to payments to players. Junketeers? None of them in the wonderful amateur game in Ireland?

It is. Corn Uí Phocrasaigh. Named after the GAA stalwart Irish-Amercian Seamus Ó Pocrasaigh.

Thanks for that WanPintWin. If you happen to know, would you mind telling us a bit about him?

I don't know a huge amount about him apart from the fact that he was originally from Cavan and was a generous donor to the GAA in the Chicago. Very flaithiúlach in that regard.
