(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Looking at putting a graphic together for the TCup TOTY and the SFC TOTY. Who would be the picks for each position in your view? Curious to see if it matches up with my own! :)

9 players from Westmeath, your having a laugh.
From my own county along with Reilly I expect Devanney in goals, a good campaign and saved penalties in game against London plus the shoot out against Leitrm and a string of saved against Cavan. Also L
Pat Spillane at midfield was very good along with Lyon's at full back. We will be looking for a minimum of 3

Matter of opinion but I would have Clifford over Comer every day of the week…. A different class altogether and it's doubtful Clifford would leave the field v Leitrim without scoring from play…!!!

Lyon's was a hard call and it was a toss up between him and Maguire. Devanney I'll take as one I wasn't really thinking of other than the shootout. Spillane was very good at midfield but so were several lads and I just couldn't have him in. It's too hard to fit everyone in haha!

Well if 4 of that Derry team merit inclusion it doesn't say much for the rest of the Derry lads, by far the worst teaming the semis

I can't see Derry getting 4 All-Stars. I do think McKaigue could get one instead of Rodgers.
Comer was good against Mayo especially in the 1st half, very good against Roscommon especially the 2nd half, good against Armagh and outstanding against Derry. He hasn't had a poor game in this year's championship. I'd be surprised if he's not in with a very strong shout.

Derry will get none, All found wanting when tested. Rodger's at full back played well at times when the full forward didn't stay in , against Galway different story, he was took to cleaners.

Conor Glass, a very good player but not an all star this year, Galway bossed midfield in the semi and Glass handed the ball to a galway player to leave his goalie stranded for Comers 2nd goal. Beaten semi finalists don't get 4 awards and with Derry playing so poorly in the biggest game of their season, I predict a token 1 award for the Oakleafers.

He left the field last year without scoring from play, after Kerry scored 4-22 in hammering a shambolic Cork team, so your comment is pretty redundant.
Hammerings against Cork and Leitrim aren't where the likes of Comer and Clifford are measured.
Clifford is one of the best forwards I've ever seen. He's not infallible though and struggled against Dublin in the 2nd half when the game was in the melting pot. The same happened in the Sigerson final earlier this year, where he kicked a few bad wides and didn't score from play.
Comer is a different type of player. He's not going to come around on the loop and kick as many points as Clifford, but he's a massive threat and incredibly hard to handle when he's fit. His ability to take on his man or a few men is very rare in today's game. It also creates a lot of space for other players.

Agree, no doubt about Clifford's ability, some small doubt in that he has missed clutch scores in big games. Comer is at his injury free best at the moment and could definitely be the man on Sunday.
