Great result but I'd still fear for us against Galway and KK. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13779 - 06/05/2023 19:29:08 2476167 Link 4 |
Would have to agree. Well done on win today. Gives Dublin a great opportunity to have a right crack at the big 2. You never know! Galway game in particular might be a great opportunity for ye as they'll in all likelihood be already qualified for the Leinster final.

Dublin's home ground is Parnell Park, they rarely play in Croker unless there's a double header with the footballers on offer.

Good day and hard luck to Wexford. Was in balance to the end. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3118 - 06/05/2023 23:14:46 2476242 Link 1 |
where would you even begin ....

Opposite equally applies. Wexford could beat Cats in Wexford Park to do as last year. To be honest, I'm happy enough as is. Anything else is bonus. Once they give the Cats and Galway a bit of a rattle I think job done for the year. Great night for us true believers. Up the Dubs :-) BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3118 - 06/05/2023 23:36:05 2476247 Link 1 |
Any time you are playing in your own county your not playing away from home. Or am I missing something ? Is Croke Park in Louth or Kildare ?

What is that even supposed to mean? This was our home game and chose to play in CP- against the instincts of vast majority of Dublin hurling people. Worked well enough. We'll play you anywhere. Be about 8th on list of teams I'd fear. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3118 - 07/05/2023 00:16:52 2476255 Link 1 |
Well done on a great result. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3142 - 07/05/2023 09:56:31 2476282 Link 2 |
Well done Dublin. Ye won me a few quid yesterday. I could see this result from a mile off. Wexford are at a very low ebb at the moment and I sensed ye would take them. I was surprised the game was moved to Croker at your choice but it worked out anyway. LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2679 - 07/05/2023 10:07:11 2476286 Link 1 |
Great win for you Barney! Burkes last free was out of this world. Didn't even look like he was trying!

The Dublin hurlers usually play in Parnell Park and other counties have far more experience in Croker than us, so I'd say calling it a home ground is pointless.

Thanks. He is something else. Hard luck, it really could have gone either way. Like other years, the placings will most likely go down to the last minutes of the last games. Would not surprise me to see Wexford beating the Cats in a do or die for your fellas. Dublin need to be fully intent on trying to get results in the next two games, rather than possibly half thinking they were already in a quarter final last year. Donoghue seems to have done a good job regarding attitude if nothing else. Everything from now on though is really bonus territory. Good point regarding the county football league. Sure, they had a round of junior hurling championship the night the under 21s beat Offaly in Leinster final in Parnell in 2007.

Unlike knock-out games I would understand if the fixture was only made last week but these fixtures were known for months.
