Why not just give it to John O Shea on a permanent basis…. He comes across as a decent guy and the current squad of players seem to like him… How on earth is this Canham nobody getting paid…

Sure don't go so.

The FAI are a farce of biblical proportions themselves.

You want to give the Permanent Irish job to someone who has never managed a club side before just because he is a decent guy and the current squad seem to like him (both of which the previous manager had already)

Why not give it too Mickey D Higgins, sure hes a decent guy too

You dismiss it as a friendly when genuine sports fans see it as a test top level match between top teams in the world

Replying To letsgetgoing:  "I went to lots of rugby internationals in the past where you queued like everybody else to get a ticket. I am a sports fan who goes to as many games (particuarly Gaa) as I can. I am not a member of a rugby club or a season ticket holder but go to some Leinster & Connacht matches, the odd club match and was at all Irelands matches at the World Cup. I can no longer source a ticket for an International match. If I go to the match I want to concentrate on the game and not be disturbed by people continually going to the bar and toilet and spilling drink doing the Mexican Wave. You tend to see more of that at International rugby games where some people are happy to miss 10 - 20 minutes of a match in order to get another drink mid match. Are they really genuine rugby/sports fans???
I think it is therefore reasonable to conclude that those people (unlike myself) are more interested in attending the overall event, rather than the match. I do enjoy a few pints before and after games.

I think that the condensed nature and more inter- county games in the Gaa season makes it hard for say a family of 4/5 to save enough money to support their county team. Therefore the Gaa should do one of the following:
(A) Spread out the season a little more in order to allow supporters to save for tickets/travelling expenses/food/accommodation between games
(B). If the season stays the same, reduce the ticket prices.
(C) Implement both a & b above which is the best option."
Utterly nonsense
If you can no longer source international tickets it's because you aren't a member of a club, supporters club etc
And that's the right way for it to be.
Matches in every sport at top level are entertainment. And a social gathering. And for many can be their only opportunity to get away from stresses 9f work/family etc so should be more than entitled to a drink or two or whatever they like
People going to matches be it gaa, rugby or soccer should be allowed drink at their seats if they wish to. Only if they hassle etc people next to them should there be intervention by stewards in the ground.

What exactly is a genuine fan?
What makes someone more genuine than anyone else. It's a bull***t word to describe supporters

More games in gaa season?
If you support a province in rugby you have 20+ games in actual competition before Friendlies though about half then are outside Ireland.

In gaa you can only spread season out more if you change or adapt what happens with clubs and their seasons as otherwise some players will never get an off season and a break.

If you reduce the ticket prices where do you address the shortfall in €€€€

More than half?
What's this based on?

How petty and childish are you that you are so triggered by a rival sport?
What exactly is a toff and have you ever experienced rugby if you think they're all toffs?

Giving it to O Shea would make more sense than what they are at…!

Replying To letsgetgoing:  "Anyone know if same rules apply in Croke Park for all games. Will the rugby supporters (Leinster & Northhampton) be able to bring alcohol to their seats for the semi-final in a couple of weeks time. Hopefully the same rules apply as per Gaa matches and will be part of the renting agreement."
Looks like the Gaa rules will apply. I agree with that decision and hopefully the IRFU will apply the same rules to the Aviva.
