Replying To Tirchonaill1:  "This World Cup has been fantastic, delighted for Morocco and Croatia, glad to see the back of Ronaldo and Neymar too, the Portuguese do some amount of diving, glad the ref didn't fall for it,
Now for a France win this evening, I don't care now whether its Argentina Croatia or Morocco that win the Cup, ABE and no big fan if the French either but I'm supporting France tonight.
Had to laugh at Shearers comments the last night, saying Argentina are not a good team, what a bitter clown,
4.0 France, Sterling to get sent off for diving,
looking forward to seeing Declan Rice singing the British anthem with all his might, Tiocfaidh la France Declan."
You cant talk about bitter with your calls for ABE and the Sterling and Rice comments

So far so good. England not bad at diving either, ref playing a blinder.

It's funny in another 2 weeks all the ABE callers will be back supporting a Premier league team again without a hint of irony.

Great point from Kane, true Irish roots.

Don't usually watch foreign games but I enjoyed that, they're going home. Will the Brits hound Kane the way they hounded the black players a couple of years ago?

For someone who doesn't watch foreign games you're very interested in England and know what they're doing.

Not a big fan of it either but I have enjoyed this World Cup it has shortened the Winter anyway, I think France won tonight playing badly, Mbappe had an off day but I think he'll be back to his best against Morocco,
I'd love to see Morocco get to the final but still hoping to see Messi lifting the World Cup, it would be brilliant to see him do it after such a brilliant career.
The English done some amount of diving and whining tonight in all fairness they are like the Mayo of the International soccer, you'd wonder are they a bit cursed too with penalties,
still though I really enjoyed that point from Kane, he will never live that one down no matter what they say.
Despite all the controversy about Qatar hosting the World Cup I think most would agree it's been a great tournament, looking forward now to the semi's now that the chokers next door have been sent home.

Love to see Intercounty championship run over the winter like the COVID year. Better pitches than clubs and frees up ordinary club players for their break.

I agree with Shearer. Argentina are not a good team. They may still win the World Cup though. If the Netherlands got stuck into them from the beginning the other night instead of playing so uncharacteristically cagey and showing Argentina too much respect, I think the result would have been different.

Well they had their chance again in extra-time after getting level, but there was only one team looking to win the game. Argentina had all the chances in extra-time. If the Dutch had figured out they got their 2 goals by getting stuck in, that realisation seemed to desert them again in extra-time.
They're not the best Argentina team ever, but of course they're a 'good' team. They're far better balanced than versions we've seen in recent World Cups. They beat Brazil in their own backyard to win the Copa America last year. You don't do that if you're not a good team.
They don't take unnecessary risks and rely a lot on Messi to create something.
Every team in the competition has weaknesses, which is why it's been so enjoyable.

I simply can't see any hope of any one poster here being head hunted to pursue a career as a pundit or presenter with any tv / radio network.

How correct were the English fans singing " Football's coming home" . The ball Kane took the penalty with landed in London last night.

Haha you're right. A solid 0% strike rate in my quarter final predictions! In fairness you would have gotten great odds on calling each of the four semi-finalists correctly.

To my surprise the WC has actually been decent entertainment. Even the Argentina Dutch game despite the standard being not great was great to watch - a lot to be said for a bit of fight! Having said that I dont think Argentina will win it. Loose cannons all over the place and I thought it was just the little united defender that was an accident waiting to happen. They're a team ready to implode at any second and Messi is as bad as the rest with how easy his feathers are getting ruffled.
Would be great to see a Leicester type winner and I certainly wouldnt begrudge Modric. From what I can see hes the player of the tournament. A special mention to Giroud too - you'd have to wonder why Arsenal ever thought Lacazette wasa better option.
Hoping for a Morocco Croatia final.
