Away from all the politics, I must say a big well done to the Irish ladies on their Nations League two-legged victory over Belgium. I watched both games and they have a good wee team. Belgium came right back into it last night with two well taken goals by their captain Tessa Wullaert. It was looking ominous for Ireland at that stage. Their 4-2 advantage from the first leg was wiped out and Belgium had all the momentum.

But fair play to Ireland. They made some changes and got back into the game. They probably should have went ahead before the 90th minute winner by Abbie Larkin. They left it late but got the job done.

Fair enough but then why have this non GAA forum if only one side is safe from the hatchet? Is that the tolerance they preach about? But I do agree with you in that I will probably just stick to sports from now on.

Well said Lockjaw. Best team over the two legs against a team ranked higher than us. Very impressed with the way they went about their business. Tried to play football without hoofing it long every time, keeping possession, high fitness levels and work ethic and played as a team. Deserved their promotion. Interesting to see who they will draw next week to see if they have any chance of getting to the World Cup in Brazil in 2027.

I suppose when you do something like that and most others see it as being idiotic it does strike a raw nerve. Sorry about that.

Honestly why do you care about guns and Obama care? all worrying about the States does is act as a smokescreen for the problems in our own country. People obsessed with America is beyond me.

They've given themselves a good chance anyway. What a fantastic experience it would be to be able to travel to Brazil to play in a World Cup!
