No big crowds at any matches except hurling but you continue to live in your make believe world if you want…. Football is dying fast … small crowds and no atmosphere

I've given up on responding directly to that particular poster. I'm convinced it's just another of the many supporters of a certain US politician who is particularly good at using Google. I enjoy interacting with genuine posters - even cantankerous ones - but that particular one is like a machine, regurgitating a specific narrative. Life is too short - well, mine is anyway. I just scroll past it now. I'm not even sure if it is a genuine Gaelic games aficionado, or someone inserted to spread a specific gospel. They ( who seem to know everything) say that social media is full of them. I'm off to try find my tinfoil hat. .

Oh I agree there. But there is no doubt that the polar ice caps are melting. Sea levels rising will have consequences in our lifetime. We're already seeing it in terms of weather, but it will also lead to more questions when it comes to immigration.
People will flee the worst of the climate affected areas of the world. Where will they go?

I think it's very selfish of us to just shrug our shoulders and let the future generations have to deal with it. I'm no climate change activist by any means. But I do think we need to at least try to do more to restrict the damage.

Indeed but our species is the first species to impact climate. Also the first species to drive mass extinction and we will probably be responsible for our own. No species has ever left such a destructive footprint on the planet before.

No doubt, however, progressive leftists have a huge carbon footprint, they talk about climate change while jetting around the planet. Conservatives are not interested in the topic. Looks ominous.

Football is dying? You do know football exists outside of games on television? You clearly have no clue about what is happening at club level.

What are the crowds like are club games? I'd imagine local teams attract numbers

I'm not talking about club games… I was referring to inter county football matches.. People have clearly lost interest in them as the collapse in attendance figures clearly point out… Hurling attendance figures are staying very strong because of the excitement the games bring… compared to the dross served up at football matches

How many people attended football matches compared to hurling last week out of interest.

The football is excellent and cost is a factor as in most football team will be playing 5 plus games this year it is a case of picking and choosing

So tv football is dead. Cool. Don't worry about it. Keep giving your expert opinion from the couch.

I live in reality. Working hard within a thriving duel GAA club who are getting big numbers of girls and boys out and keeping them progressing up the age grades. Armchair fans who want constant entertainment don't matter to the grassroots.

Agreed but my general point was that cities of that size should be able to support a team no bother. I don't know why that other poster got so offended and cranky. Very strange.

Club is what it's all about and I've always said that… County football and it's paid managers and coaches have the game ruined… The top brass in the GAA just laugh at guys like you doing your good work for your club… It's all about County for those well paid guys..

Haha i have won multiple intermediate and club senior medals and have managed two different clubs to county titles. You think ex players and club people and parents go out wondering what the top brass in the GAA think of us? You are a joke man. Get off the couch and do something.
