Teams will still be mad to win the championship and go play in ulster. Championship is always number one

Correct, and anyone who says otherwise has never had any club involvement.

It's time to rethink the nonsense of delayed league finals, and even late championship finals TearsIn85 (Monaghan) - Posts: 222 - 31/10/2025 14:59:36 2642402 Link 0 |

Blayney back in Senior against Carrick's second string and monaghan gaa didn't even bother going to the game and covering it. farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 431 - 31/10/2025 21:46:35 2642435 Link 0 |

Was clear all year that Blayney and Carrick would go up. Whether they sat up or not is a different story but let's see updafaughs (Monaghan) - Posts: 158 - 31/10/2025 22:16:35 2642439 Link 0 |

You've the most uncompetitive club competitions in Ulster. County Scotstown aside, and they are struggling, with the pick of about five clubs, to make a dent in the province, your clubs are regressing. Scewing the competitions to suit your annual January all Ireland isn't helping either.

No All Ireland is ever coming to your county.

Actually like Scotstown, Inniskeen had a 2 week lay off before the final. Ah but sure dont let facts get in the way of a good story.

Now now don't be salty. Carrick are the only team to beat Blayney all year so they deserve to go up

Blayney could well stay up. They've good numbers coming through. They're no worse than Cremartin, Truagh or Corduff. All promotion sorted after Seans v Eire Og tomorrow. Either will struggle in Intermediate regardless. Ballybay and Aughnamullen will be very strong favourites for Intermediate. New managers incoming to both I'd suspect. Killanny, Donaghmoyne, possibly Emyvale best of the rest. One of Tyholland, Doohamlet and Clones to join Eire Og/Seans in the relegation scrap. Senior isn't even interesting. Scotstown will keep winning as long as Beggan and McCarron keep going. Drumhowan, Aghabog, Toome or Blackhill will probably win Junior. Currin and Seans/Eire Og outsiders. Know a lot of teams have parted ways with managers. Any updates on any appointments for 2026? Will it be the same guys simply moving around clubs? Easy win for the faughs in the end. They'll feel they have a solid chance now to build in senior next year to gradually. Carrick in fairness had one eye on ulster. I'd agree that league finals should be wrapped up in late July early August. Maybe it's time to go divisional as well and scrap the current system. 2 up, 2 down, and you could have at least 4 divisions. Would be good prep for teams ahead of championship. The current format doesn't serve well, to confusing to know how a team gets relegated. I'd like to see also championship return to a better format. Maybe have a winners and lovers section after round 1. Club football seems to have gone a bit stale in the county. 222 (UK) - Posts: 883 - 01/11/2025 09:53:57 2642458 Link 0 |

I was in fact referring to the lengthy gameless period Inniskeen had before the semi-final Given that's the only nit you could find to pick, I presume you're in general agreement with the thrust of the argument that changes to schedules and sequencing is needed? Maybe you'll ask your club rep to bring it to county board so? Good man. TearsIn85 (Monaghan) - Posts: 222 - 01/11/2025 11:31:03 2642472 Link 0 |

Strange the final was last night and hurlers playing same weekend in Ulster. Very unfair on the dual lads

The aim for Faughs next year would be to squeeze in to sixth place in the league which is realistic given the lack of lads on county panel. Then hopefully get 3rd place in championship group depending on the draw. But could very easily be in relegation groups in both. Exciting times for the club though with the youth coming through

Lad, if you are going to issue proclamations, dont talk in tongues. In fact the in the last 10 minutes of the county final, it looked like Inniskeen had not got enough of a rest. There is no need for the extra week break after Round Robin but it had no effect on Final. Leagu Finals should be played week after semi finals, but other than that our county administrators do a great job.
