Posting a comment like that is promoting sexism. Shame on Moderator for allowing it.

New fixtures layout is the same layout and format as Tyrone GAA fixtures .
They include LGFA and Camogie on their also.
I don't like the omission of the name of the referee who has been appointed to the fixture.
I can see it being a little confusing with the addition of ladies fixtures.

Absolute nonsense comment!
In no way is sexism promoted.
They merely stated what had happened! Catch a grip!

Not pleasing to look at and blinded by colours!
The no referees is a joke too!

How ? It's a complete mess. Colour coded but a quick glance you have Div 2 U16 Div 2 for ladies and men's and the only difference is colour .. many people would be confused. No referee name either.
If you think it's better than before you're only kidding yourself …

As for your comment … well they are different organisations ? Why would the lgfa fixtures be listed with the GAA? Go away with your sexism

So a few things here.

The fixtures and results section is a step in the right direction for a few reasons.

There is now a clear demarcation in the competition selection menu between county and club, and between different grades of each. This is a significant improvement over the previous abomination that made finding anything very difficult.

Further, the colour coding by football, burling and ladies is welcome. For those whose eyes hurt, there's a very effective filter option so you can view only the codes you are interested in.

The removal of details like referee is a good step for clarity. there's a lot of information presented here, and particularly on mobile devices, less is definitely more.

However....

The complete removal of referee details is obviously problematic. There really should be a click through option on a fixture to view more info.

And while a big improvement, the classification of competitions in the drop down menu is still wrong. For example, the Senior Club Football section has 2x football leagues listed, and 3x senior football championships. I'm sure there's a reason for this , and it could be easily fixed by better competition naming.

However, there's still a bunch of intermediate, junior and reserve competitions listed under Senior Club Football despite those grades having their own sections on the menu. This is counter intuitive.

A big step in the right direction. More to do.

As for complaining about LGFA fixtures and different organisations, the date for merging is set for 2027. It makes complete sense to include any work to prepare for that merge in advance. The alternative is to build and maintain a completely separate system that will be scrapped in a short amount of time. If that happened, the same hurlers on the ditch would be complaining about a waste of resources.

And just like that, referees have been added back in to the listings, so all is well with the world again.

Now we can resume normal sniping and griping.

Carry on

Could Blayney be fighting relegation. Bad result for them against Emyvale I presume that would be a game that they would have expected to win,
Took on Malone and Mc Elroy today , they look away off the pace .
Is their bench that weak that they need to play these lads ?

1 group game gone and you're condemning them to relegation , cmon. Missing young mcquillan and only lost by a point. Still plenty of football to play

A lot of games all weekend.. luckily made it to a few.

Scotstown and Ballybay- Scotstown looked in control at all times. They never seemed too worried. Did not see what Jap done to get the line. Scotstown still missing key players and winning these games comfortable. They take these first championship games with a pinch of salt.

Corduff and Cremartin- Awful tough watch. More entertainment watching both sets of managements. Can't see either team going too far but credit must be given to Cremartin for sticking to two points for their first year up and against such a difficultly set up team.

Kilanny v Donaghmoyne- massive shock result this. Fancied Donaghmoyne big time but Kilanny were brilliant. Killanny conceded a very soft goal but they recovered well and held on. Donaghmoyne were second best to everything. Kilanny will take a lot from this into next week against Clontibret. Should be a good contest if both teams go at it.

Inniskeen v Clontibret- Pick of the 4 games I was at all weekend. Shocked to see Jones togged out never mind make an appearance after hearing this last while he was injured. Clontibret the better team and did not expect them to be anywhere near Inniskeen. Thought Inniskeen would have too much but this wasnt the case. Mc Donnell for clontibret ran straight through them 4/5 times without a hand on him. Woods threw his weight around was about the height of his days work. Hughes for Clontibret brilliant feet. Durnin awfully quiet I thought. McManus off injured which didn't look good for Clontibret. Meegan caused a bit of bother and kicked some massive frees. Controversial finish but I think the ref got it bang on.

Anyone at other games all weekend? Share your thoughts.

No Blayney at best are mid table intermiedate championship team and they'll survive. Bit of a shock blackhill taking out clones on Saturday evening, after clones hammering them a few weeks back. Big win for killanny and a massive setback for donaghmoyne. Given the long drawn out format, it is very hard to know how it will play out. Could oram suprise a few in junior?

Agree with your synopsis of the Clontibret-Inniskeen game. You could see from the Clontibret warm up that they were well up for it. They were the better team throughout - Inniskeen seemed lost at times trying to infiltrate the Clontibret defense. Clontibret's second goal was taken very well from a midfield turnover. Inniskeen will need to go back to the drawing board - playing that set up will not get them back to a County Final.

This group is wide open now so this weekends games with Inniskeen-Latton and Killanny-Clontibret will tell a lot.

Awesome stuff from Kilanny. Having just gotten relegated, it would have been so easy for them to lie down and lick their wounds. They got straight back on the horse and took a huge scalp against Donaghmoyne. Fully deserved win and but for a freak goal, would have more comfortably. They get branded as a side full of workhorses but there is real quality all over the pitch. In terms of lads not on the county panel, Killian Collins and Eddie Walsh are as good forwards as you'll find here. They are putting some of the bigger towns in the county to shame.
As for Donaghmoyne, there are no excuses whatsoever. I expected them to take a real step forward this year. However, they got hammered by a Ballybay team (who were missing key players) in the league quarter final, and have now lost to Killanny who just lost the relegation playoff the previous week. The seasons obviously not over, but they have left life very hard for themselves. What needs to change? Maybe I am overrating Donaghmoyne but to me, it looks like they've got enough quality players to be doing better than what they have done. I'd be interested to hear thoughts from others on this.
It was typical of Clontibret at the weekend. Terrible league campaign, written off by all of us and then they produce that. No Vinny and no Dessie anymore, and no Manzy for the last 25 minutes either but they still pulled it out. Fingers crossed Manzy's injury is nothing serious. What a warrior. Sean Jones was only fit to play the last 20 minutes but it's a good sign that he's back. I was worried he would end up missing the entire championship. Tommy Durnin was completely nullified by Francis Hughes. His brother (I think?) Darragh Hughes scored around 2-03 from play and each point was a contender for the score of the game. Dean McDonald from Clontibret probably the best player on show across all 4 senior games this weekend. Frightening pace and athleticism. Brother of goalkeeper Darren?
Also, there was no MP O'Dowd in the match programme- Does anyone know what the story is there? Huge miss if Clontibret are without him.
This might be the kick up the backside that Inniskeen needed to kickstart their championship campaign, but they looked miles off it there yesterday.

Don't know about your comments on donaghmoyne, there not contenders by any means but probably should be doing better. But than again they have been in the last two relegation groups in 22 and 23. As the old saying goes, very much jeckll and hyde with them. They'll be up against it now, a real game to keep an eye out in that group with be them against latton, no love loss there.

Ref got it bang on in Inniskeen match. Inniskeen got what they deserved. The 2 Clontibret wing half backs are flyers. Mansy was quiet until injury sidelined him. Thought it was shoulder but looked like they were treating a finger. Inniskeen need way more from Woods.

Scotstown were definitely the better of 2 average sides on Saturday but Ballybay's habit of conceding stupid frees for Jack to tap over was the main difference.

Sometimes it's hard to read these 1st round games. Clontibret won Championship in 2019, they needed penalties to get over Carrick in first game. Last year Inniskeen beat Scotstown more comfortably than the final score suggested, and look what happened in the final.

Inniskeen have to go to Latton next Saturday with their season on the line. Great weekend for Latton and they didn't kick a ball.
