Tubberclair win the U20 Championship, midfielder Bourke was excellent; a candidate for a call from Mark McHugh if he was watching. OverTheHill85 (Westmeath) - Posts: 194 - 08/11/2025 19:01:45 2643546 Link 0 |

Tom Bourke, has great potential, dominated last year's minor football final, prone to getting cards but when he's on form he's a top player. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 2508 - 08/11/2025 19:06:00 2643547 Link 0 |

Watched him against multifarnam and rochfordbrisge this year genuinely one of the best players technically in the county. He's also athletic for his age with some coaching and even more gym work I could definetly see him as a candidate to play for Westmeath seniors maybe not this year but next year or the year after. He can make something out of nothing and is very consistent. Getting cards isn't always a bad sign but discipline is very important with the new rules . Watched the game today and he received some hits off the ball and still managed to keep going . Mathew Thornton from multifarnam another lad at that age similar but doesn't have the same athleticism but also a player who I want to see more of

Some performance from Bourke, Tubberclair have so many exciting prospects. Taylor Slevin also just out of minor and we all seen what he can do in the Intermediate final. The extra year at minor has clearly stood to those boys A_Chairde (Westmeath) - Posts: 363 - 08/11/2025 21:14:18 2643574 Link 0 |

Taylor Slevin is real talent . Tubberclaire I feel could win a senior in next 5 years if all these players are looked after. Gaalover1989 (Westmeath) - Posts: 55 - 09/11/2025 09:46:54 2643595 Link 0 |

Very good pick however I think Martin in goal, egerton most underrated player all year should be there, Giles was brilliant and need to be there and the same goes for O'Brien who in semi and final was very good. Intermediate Mattew gunning one of the players of championship up to semi final, Duncan midfield bossed that B group and quarter, mccrossan inwould say Shandonaghs best player all year, Tighe full back for Tubberclair never put a foot wrong in the 3 games in the park. I watched the 20s game yday in Moate,Bourke was outstanding for periods and was out of the game at times but his 2 pointers were brilliant. Tubberclare should have won by more only for Dorian who pulled off some great saves. Shane Ormsby looked in trouble with a shoulder at the end which was a worrying sight. Tubberclare very well set up, with the young Whitaker a very bright prospect. The younger Ormsby also for his age done very well and has a big future. Roll on the Downs next week. nadunta2025 (Westmeath) - Posts: 17 - 09/11/2025 10:29:38 2643597 Link 0 |

Senan missed the first game against Killucan. He kicked some good scores against Moate but was marked out of the game against Kinnegad in the quarter final.

What is meant by players being looked after?

You'd imagine good coaching, S&C, player retention and perhaps this could lead to exposure at county level which would add a new level. I'm sure this applies to players on any club.

Exactly ,as above . I meant no offence whatsoever. I feel this is a serious panel . I believe that the panel could being major success to tubberclaire. I as a guy with no skin in the game hope they drive on next year in the senior championship. There has been huge work there . Tullamore are a seasoned team at this level running Cuala close last year. They will be a serious test for the downs but you'd hope home advantage might swing it for the Downs. londoner (UK) - Posts: 114 - 10/11/2025 17:34:27 2643886 Link 0 |

I fancy Tullamore tbh, 3 in a row champions and a team with lots of county players. I'm hearing injuries in both camps so I think the Offaly lads have better depth. I know The Downs have a few county lads too but I think Tullamore might shade it. Hopefully I'm wrong. BigSur (Westmeath) - Posts: 1231 - 10/11/2025 21:59:39 2643908 Link 0 |

Watched the Offaly Final, Tullamore are a good team and play an effective counter attacking game, similar to The Downs. Indeed they finished the game very impressively, Ferbane were 3 up with 3 minutes of normal time left after the goal. I still think The Downs will have too much scoring power for Tullamore, Ferbane should have had a couple of extra goals. I fancy The Downs to get 2 or 3, 17 goals scored in this Championship already. Offaly full back Declan Hogan will mark Luke, McDaid was marking the Ferbane danger man, but I am told he got skinned in the Semi Final and had to switch with Hogan. Conor Coughlan on Cormac Egan will be another key match up. iarmhiabu (Westmeath) - Posts: 290 - 11/11/2025 10:06:33 2643945 Link 0 |
