Can't understand the negativity towards the competition. Were there not big celebrations when the seniors won the Tailteann? A trophy to be won at the end of the day and maybe it's a fair reflection of where we are at. Best of luck to Damien & his squad.

The usual negative slant on here from the same couple of posters. I know the u20s will be going all out to win next Tuesday. Westmeath dont win Leinster finals very often and theres an All Ireland series which would be brilliant. I really hope our supporters get behind the players and show their support and encouragement in Mullingar. Its a home final against our neighbours.

Temple and Mick embarrassing themselves with their comments, any inter county game is worth winning, at any level, even more so when we're struggling, at least the players and Management showed pride and ability last night, Cooney was excellent, Hanley showed up very well too, other lads showed promise, if we had not taken part or lost then Temple and Mick would really have thrown dummies out of the pram, small steps are still steps.

Well done to the u20s last night on their semi final win.Ok it maybe a secondary competition but its more games for this group and winning games builds character.A home final against Longford is something to look forward to and finals are there to he won.So best of luck again to management and squad and hope a decent crowd turn out to support these young lads.Contrary to other peope beliefs I do think we have some decent senior players in the making from this squad.

True, would expect Armagh to beat Down but other match is 50-50. Championship starting date for clubs is also based on championship progression which should be longer in Tailteann

Armagh were very lucky to win in the end… Down were winning for the whole match!

It all comes down to the Louth Kildare game which is a 50/50 game on paper. Kildare are definitely better than their league results and I fear they could put in a massive performance tomorrow. I hope I'm wrong!!

Great news that Kildare lost. Unless Offaly win we are in the All Ireland!!

Well done to Dessie and players that was the goal at the start of the year. Div 2 football and All Ireland football both achieved

Hopefully the lads get a boost by this now and put in some good performances in the group stages and see can we go one step further this year

Correct.

We are absolutely blessed to be fair! Sligo should have beaten Galway last weekend and Down were also very unlucky yesterday against Armagh. But we will take it. We all know Westmeath are a lot better than that showing against Wicklow so hopefully they put in a few decent performances now in the All Ireland!!

We are seeded last so we can get 1 provincial winner, 1 provincial runner up, and 1 of Derry, Tyrone, Monaghan or Roscommon

Ideally a good group for Westmeath would be:

Seed 1 - Winner of Ulster who we would have in Mullingar.
Seed 2 - Clare or Louth who we would play away.
Seed 3 - Roscommon, Monaghan or Tyrone who we would play at neutral venue

However, we could get a group of death that could include:

Seed 1 - Dublin or Kerry
Seed 2 - Loser of Galway/Mayo
Seed 3 - Derry

If we were to draw the rossies . Where would the neutral venue be? Hard one to figure out.
