Replying To wicklowsupport:  "Best of luck to you and your team for the rest of the season Yellaman. Wexford are the best team in Division 4 plus we get a second chance almost immediately against Limerick at home next weekend. Management and the county board brought in Frankie Dolan to work with our forwards. I'm not privy to information but I'd imagine that his services are not free. I'd hope that he could aid our players in terms of their shot choice which would eliminate some of these wides as he was a top forward himself. As I said on another post, there is no room for any mistakes now. There is one spot behind Wexford for a team to win promotion. We still have it in our hands - can we prove that we are worthy of promotion by beating Limerick and Tipperary? In order win both games, the team has to prove that they can play to a decent standard for the entire match against Limerick and Tipperary. Time will tell if this team is up to the task and can do it or not."
The tally of wides is concerning. Consistency seems to be the problem with our side. Manager has tried every combination of forward player open to him and it doesn't seem to make any difference. We can with both remaining matches - if we take our chances.

would promotion be even a good idea? best player Healy is on verge of retirement and there is no replacement

You have posed a real conundrum there Heavyheart. I think we should wait until after next Sundays game before we explore that particular topic. If we lose next week, it won't apply.

Has the manager tried every combination? I can't understand why he is so reluctant to give Matthew Ging a go. He played well for Tinahely in the recent senior championship. I'm not saying he is a silver bullet to our scoring problems but I'd like to see him being played. Also, a ball winning full forward is a tactic I'd like to see tried. In relation to Dean Healy and a potential replacement, I think this highlights the problem with players coming through at club level. Dean Healy is a top class player and has been a brilliant servant to the county but it is not a good sign to see no other player stepping up to take on the mantle. Finally, with a young team, I think it is worth being promoted. Players develop by playing against better players and teams. It does nothing for players/team development playing in Division 4. I'd like to see us promoted even if we can't stay in Division 3 next season. The players will benefit us to play for one season in Division 3.

The lad who never gets to see a match no matter what name he uses he always cant make it now tells is that shot selection is the problem

Tipp found out today that London are no pushover although if you were studying form as in a horse race you would have to say that Wexford and Limerick were favs for promotion - structly on their London results as against ours. Still, there's many a slip tween cup and lip"
A token word for hurlers from the self apointed chair man

Replying To wicklowsupport:  "The Wicklow hurlers seem to be on the up, long may it continue. A lot of credit goes to the manager who seems to have come in and got the team organised and seems to have sorted some of the problems that plagued the team previously. In terms of promotion, I think Wexford are favourites for promotion which is why I was eager to see how we measured up against them yesterday. I think spot two for promotion is open and I'd hope we could put ourselves in a position to get promotion. On current form, I'm not sure that we can but it is the hope that kills you in the end. I'd agree that Limerick are most peoples' pick for the second promotion spot but I don't think they are as strong as Wexford so I'd hope that we could do it."
Same.

I give up I couldnt be listening to ya

Tbh I wouldn't be writing yourselves off yet. Apart from the wides, there wasn't too much wrong with your performance. You won more primary possession than any of the other counties we played, and that's always a platform to build off. You also carried a bit of a goal threat. Your defence wasnt too bad I think we created more scoring chances in our other games. You need someone to kick 2 pointers for you though. All in all I wouldn't be falling over in shock if you win your next 2 games, especially with the game against Limerick being at home. Hopefully you get a good crowd out to support your team.

Probably have forgotten more about Wicklow hurling than you know Pat, now run along there like a good little buachail.

I see you and I are under attack again from our friend from the west of the county. Other than taking a playful poke at him, I find he is best ignored. He is a kind of troll who has latched on to you and I, sometimes accusing us of being one and the same. But it takes all kinds. God bless his innocence.

Unfortunately I haven't heard much of the hurlers ( PM will lash me over this) but the footballers are supposed to be pretty decent. Time will tell.

I think Wicklow will beat Tipp but Limerick will be a tough ask.Regardless of promotion it would be nice to see Wicklow finish off the league in style and look forward to the championship with confidence.

He likes coming on and winding people up. An odd time he might make some valid points. I didn't read his comments.

If you read them back, they are his usual waffle. Surprised to see him breaking cover really. Normally he only surfaces when someone criticises the Co Board. I think he is close to someone in the inner circle, or possibly in it himself. Anyway, life is too short, or at least mine is, to pay too much attention to his meanderings.

I have seen a lot of bad Wicklow performances of the years.

I drove back from Cavan that year.

I saw Wicklow score 2 points in Armagh.

Last weekend is up there with the very worst. Did we not understand who we were playing or what was at stake ?

Every time you turn on the TV you see Oisin or pick up a paper the same.

He just does not get it.
