Last I had heard was it was going through planning with Ealing council. I had seen the plans for that - looked very impressive. I wasnt sure if TCG would get the exclusive use of this or not? or how would the use of it be distributed? Jaybloggs (UK) - Posts: 37 - 22/10/2021 12:08:20 2386791 Link 0 |
I havent heard - but I really dont know how London would vote here. Financially my guess would be they would be better off in the current format - however from competitiveness & bettering the standard Proposal B would be a no brainer. They train in Mitcham RFC...where Round Towers also train I believe. How many clubs in London have their own pitches now? Moyle (Tipperary) - Posts: 89 - 22/10/2021 12:42:34 2386804 Link 0 |

McCurtains, TCG and Kiernans are the only ones in London with their own pitch I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Clarets too?

Clarets well beaten by Sean Mac's, Brendans edged out St Judes, two early goals look to have been the difference.

Joes, Clarets, Neasden, Tara, St Anthonys, Eire Og all have their own pitches. Dulwich used to play on Peckham Rye i believe? Not sure if they still do

Oh yeah, forgot about NLS's pitch. Wonder why more games aren't there? London125 (UK) - Posts: 55 - 25/10/2021 11:40:12 2387261 Link 0 |
Even Naomh Padraig (The irish guards) had their own pitch!! MyOpinion1991 (UK) - Posts: 25 - 25/10/2021 12:20:44 2387274 Link 0 |
with two pitches in Mitcham there should be at least two weekends scheduled for fixtures in south London that could accomodate, Towers, Cuchullainns (H+F), Dulwich, Treacys, Dulwich ladies, Towers ladies, Green Isle Camoige, Croydon camoige, also I believe most of Fulham are Clapham based so you could have their footballers and hurlers there. That back pitch is not as fun when you're the one collecting the balls from behind the goals! To play on my favourite outside of Ruislip is probably Cayton Road. Always been in good condition when I've been down there. Never really enjoyed playing in Mitcham and Scrubs. Hayes is a decent pitch but I'm sure it's on the smaller side. Feels quite narrow. Not sure which side is worse, at least at the far end you have the big opening in line with the posts so as long as theres plenty of points being scored you should be okay! haha Never played on the hayes pitch so wouldnt know, played at cayton road a couple time and yes thats a very well kept ground. In other news I see were looking for a new Operations and Finance officer, any word on potential candidates? Things certainly seem to have improved on a youth development side of things the last few years, what else does the job include? MyOpinion1991 (UK) - Posts: 25 - 25/10/2021 15:34:35 2387311 Link 0 |
I believe the pitch in Reading is temporarily unavailable but should be available again soon.
