Replying To Ollie2:  "Heartbreaking defeat for the Louth minors last Saturday night in Cavan. That match could of going either way."
The minors have been most unfortunate in both Leinster final and AI QF. But there is some great talent to be nurtured going forward.

Good luck today in the game vs. Clare guys.
There's more in that Louth team to come.

Handy game for Louth. Will they be playing Saturday or Sunday next week?

Think Brannigan is pushing hard for a start next week, grimes hasn't come to the party this season really. Good to see Downey show some form today hopefully he kicks on. Maybe the under dog tag will benefit the team as we will surely be that next week whoever we get. Think Dublin or Donegal will be the pick rather than head down to a sore Kerry. A lot of improvement required if we are to progress further

Any team news for Sunday, are our walking wounded back, we will need them all for our Ballybofey adventure. Very hard to get reasonably priced accommodation anywhere in Ballybofey, but of a **** up with the Rally on. Should be moved to Clones or another venue in Ulster.

Yeah, heard Ger on LMFM saying everyone fit to be selected bar Bevan Duffy.

Leaving Drogheda early on sunday, cant be dealing with traffic choas/jams, out of Drogheda for 10.30 or so, hopefully get up there in decent enough time, park the car and have a wander around/bit of ground before the game.

Massive ask of us on Sunday, but sure you just never know, but looking at form since the Leinster final, you can realistically only see one outcome.

First time since 1957, Louth as Leinster champions will play the Ulster champions in the championship.

No matter what happens Sunday, what we achieved this year was something me and a lot of others never thought we would see in a lifetime .

Best of luck to Louth on Sunday, Big task going up to ballyboffey to beat Donegal in a championship game, But this year second division teams have done well against first division teams so it's certainly possible, Bring your leinster final second half performance up there and ye have a right good chance. Might throw a €20 on Louth at 9/1, you can get 36/1 for a Louth Down double on Sunday which is tempting.

Get into the game early, bury the goal chances of which there will be many, dominate midfield and nail your 2 pointers and frees should do it...no bother at all...... An Lu Abu!

Very hard game in Sunday. See the team is out it'll be interesting to see what team will start. I'd expect sean callaghan and conor branigan to be introduced. Is this the last well see of conor grimes and bevan duffy in louth jerseys. Both gave massive commitment through the years playing in games when we lost to Leitrim and carlow by 10 points. I'd say a few lads will leave the panel at the end of the year going off on a high.
Also will we see ger brennan manage louth again. Next few years will be interesting and you'd hope wee should be grand again to stay up with the 20s coming through. LÚ ABÚ

All very simple…. If that happens in every game you will win the All Ireland…

Didnt, but was Tongue in Cheek. Disappointed End to a great year, but Donegal are very impressive. Our main players didn't show up. Dara and Conal probably our best. Black card buried us, but we were way off in the tackle and passing today, no goal chances and two pointers disappeared..Are Donegal that good?

I hope this post doesn't come off as disingenuous but congrats Louth on a great year and winning the Delaney cup. We got the run on you in the second half today. I met a number of decent Louth supporters who are a credit, same story in the league game last year in Ballyshannon. I hope you go back to back next year in Leinster and get up to Division 1, as it is deserved with your recent progress.

Congrats to Louth on a great year, between underage and senior. You are helping to raise the bar for Leinster football. A shining example of what rewards hard work can bring.

Lots for you guys to be proud of this year.
Annoying about being late to the pitch but not sure if it would have affected the end result. Either way, surely could have been pushed out 15 minutes? Or would McGuinness have went crying to the press again about unfair treatment? If it happened them, he would have made certain to get the throw in pushed out 30 minutes or more. Hope ye go a step or two further next year, big improvements since losing to us in carrick on Shannon 7 years ago.

Donegal very impressive in the 3rd quarter, we had no answer to them. Black card & 2nd goal killed us. Donegal showed us how to move ball quickly from defence to attack which is a tactic we don't use. Great year non the less. The future looks good with underage success and need D McDonnell & O'Callaghan in midfield, Markey in goals, T McDonnell, McKeown & Tinnelly in defence and Reynolds, McArdle & Grimes Murphy in attack, that has to be the future if we want to move up to another level.

Well that turned out the way most people probably expected. would have been a huge ask I believe for any county to go up to Ballybofey and come away with a win. Pity about the bus shenanigans but that's our own fault

While the future looks bright with underage, it's a worry that so many of our players are deep in their thirties - Grimes, Bevan, Tommy, McKeever, Williams, Branigan, Campbell, Casey Byrne, Andy etc.

Some of them will be back, but all of them are nearing the end and have been on the road a long time.

Just to say about Conor Grimes, yesterday he made his 39th championship appearance which took him above JP Rooney. As far as I know only Aaron Hoey and PK have more than that, dunno about some of the auld lads from the 1940s/50s era.

Him and the rest of the veterans deserve immense credit for the commitment they have shown, taking the county from the depths of Division 4 to become Leinster champions this year.

Strange one this detouring to Enniskillen. Louth fans known to me travelled by Ardee , Monaghan, Omagh Lifford passing many good hotels on the way. Monaghan town alone has some fine hotels and is only 15 mins further away than Enniskillen. Team were guaranteed a very bumpy first 30 mins ride from Enniskillen to the N15 (Sligo - Donegal road) through West Fermanagh.
Numerous sightings of Louth team bus with no passengers driving by and parking near Ballybofey pitch on Saturday afternoon (white LH reg with Anchor in blue written on side) . Maybe the poor inexperienced driver was doing a trial run and got it wrong or was replaced by another driver. Am sure the company will confirm in time.
