Replying To Richieq:  "The IIP programme was halted for new applicants, those that already had applications and investment secured were fine, I know Meath have roughly 3 million in the bank from it for Pairc Tailteann and more will be payable between September and March totalling some 12 million I believe and the plan is to start work in Q2 of 2024 when all is lodged, Louth also have significant IIP funding coming their way but I think the concern CP had is with a protected 7 million shortfall in the overall protect which rocketed to 29 million from 12 due to inflation etc and was pared back to 25 million, CP have gone ultra strict on these projects due to having to perform bail outs before and won't give a green light until fully satisfied adequate funding is on place, I feel sorry for Louth but I would imagine the delay is short term and the project will get going, perhaps those in charge were a little to enthusiastic to get things goimg instead of getting all the i's dotted and t's crossed first"
25million on a 5 thousand seater with 9 thousand standing is pure bananas. When are county officials going to get real about expenditure? Cork, Mayo, Kildare and Roscommon have all had to get bailouts (Roscommon & Kildare have come out the other end). Galway got themselves into bother but seem to have kept the wolves from the door. Casement Park looks it will be built but not after letting it go to loss for 10 years. A refurbishment plan is probably all it needed. Clubs up and down the country have also got into bother with ridiculous spends on facilities and someb have had to have debt taken over by Croke Park. Some counties in fairness run tight ships which has to be applauded but my god there officials that would run the organisation into the ground if they were left to their own devices.

Alternatively some counties have been bursting a gut trying to raise a few bob (Club Rossie for example) while others have raised millions with a stroke of a pen, with the Immigrant Investor Programme. (Meath in the previous post). Hopefully all the money as agreed will come through for Meath, Louth etc.

Fitzer gone. I thought he brought much needed energy to the county in his term.

Not much to say about that game v Meath apart from the fact that Ashbourne clubhouse, stand and pitch was impressive. Need one like that ourselves. Good crowd there. Looks like Meath played all their players throughout the match with a few seasoned individuals involved. ........We didn't with 7 defo starters not there and where off them in the entire second half. Did we take this game seriously? Anyway we have a game against Westmeath next week in the Shield. Good to be at games again, feel like forever.

Good outing in Kinnegad. Liked the way the team and subs played. Good tackling by backs and score taking up front. Both goalies made good saves and consentrated on their own area. Some very sharp ball passing too.
Best of the starters were Peter Lynch,Dermot Campbell. Tommy, Sam and Conor Grimes. Subs that impressed were Lenny Grey and Ciaran Downey. Ryan took his goal in style. Upwards and onwards. Good luck Ger and team.

Good luck to Louth tomorrow night. Its gonna be a tough task. Louth the last few seasons have started off the league fairly slowly. 2017 is the last time Louth have won their open League fixture. Hopefully Sam Mulroy can lead us to a famous victory.

Left that one behind us on Saturday night. Could have been a win or draw at least but very good performances from a lot of the lads after we were giving no chance of competing with Armagh. Let's focus now for Cork on Sunday and try and get some points on the board. Onwards and upwards

is there much rivalry with Louth and Armagh would it be needle game? being bordering county and the fact they are seen as nordies and louth as southern, or is it friendly enough? do louth have any needle with monaghon at all either or is it all just with Meath?

I'm a Drawda man so I can only talk about Meath. It might be different if you are living along the Armagh border. Louth used to be in Ulster until it was transferred over to Leinster in 1600s so Armagh would probably be the team to hate if Louth was still in Ulster. Considering Meath is the only Leinster team that Louth border the battle of the Boyne is well and truly alive. Louth have never played Armagh or Down in the Championship. They played Monghan twice.

Great win today, good keeper performance, MOT imo. That's twice we beat Cork no pushover especially with Hurley this time. Think we are still improving with a few new lads standing up. Keep it going and we can be on the top of this devision. AnLu abu

ah right, would louth and monaghon have major needle between them or is it fairly harmless? i know meath and westmeath and meath and cavan wouldnt be massive rivalry. anyway i think Louth will beat Meath by 4-5 points in 2 weeks. Cant see Meath turning Louth over tbh.

Any news on the team, assuming we are going with the tried and trusted. Going to be a great event in Navan next weekend. Can't beat An Lu v An Mhi.

Maybe between Ardee and Carrick there would be a bit of a rivalry.
