Replying To supersub15:  "You are correct Ollie, O'Moore Park it was, I must have got caught up in the excitement of reliving the game in front of a packed home crowd in NCP. ( DCP ) I wonder could there be a venue change when we're reliving the replay of the Louth v Carlow game, no harm in dreaming. -

May the best team win."
No harm in dreaming Supersub. That match will be finished on the day because the following week the winners are playing Kildare on the May bank holiday weekend. Carlow have won two of the last three Championship meetings with the Wee County. Good luck to Carlow.

Looking forward to the Louth v Carlow match in our unofficial home in PaircTailteann, Co. Meath. Always play well there bar the odd robbery but that was years ago. Always good banter with the Carlow supporters and I expect a big Louth crowd to watch our great team in actionl. Carlow have stole our thunder a few times especially 2011, can't see this team being complacent against them. They had a poor league with 1 win, 1 draw and 5 losses, -42 scoring average, so make what you will of that. Championship is Championship, bring it on, up the Wee County, support our team.

How far can Mickey bring them along?

Div 1?
Wii a Leinster?
All Ireland Semi?

I remember seeing Wexford in a Div 1 final and they should of beaten Dublin in a few Finals also over years."
I would be happy with getting to a Leinster semi-final. We have only been in one since 1998. Next year if we avoid relegation that would be a bonus. 2007 was the last time that we were in Division 1 and we only stayed 1 year in it."
Completely the wrong attitude Ollie, that is why we failed for so long.

Sometime I have trouble remembering how far down the line Kevin Behan was when he took that line ball or who got the ball that Red Meehan cleared.
It will be great only to have to think back a few years. Looking forward to the start with Carlow.

Can anyone explain the backdoor system for Louth?does it make any difference if they lose to Carlow or Kildare?

I doubt it because Round 1 contains all the beaten preliminary Round, Qtr and semi final teams that are in division 1 or 2 so presumably it wouldn't make much difference.

The 1st round of the qualifiers isn't until June 4th and the winners of our game against Carlow play Kildare on May 1st so will be a long wait until the qualifiers regardless of when we are knocked out.

What is the format for this year?

Div 1 and Div 2 teams will play in the qualfiers. This includes Louth. Div 3 and Div 4 teams play in the Tailteann Cup. Unless a Div 3 or Div 4 team reaches a provincial final they will be put in the qualifers. This could happen in Munster with Tipp. Cork are playing Kerry in the semi-final. If this happens there will be a qualifying round. So in theory if Louth fail to reach the semi-finals they will be put in the qualfiers. They would be two games away from the quarter finals compare to four from previous years.

Big weekend coming up. Hope we continue with league form and get a win over Carlow. They can do it. Years ago we would know the team by now and that added to the excitement and the craic. We won't know until we are in the field and somebody reads out a fogra. Pay €5 for a programme to see the team that played the last day. That's probably why we are all so quiet Ollie.

In any case looking forward to a run that will bring us to Navan twice and to Croker a few time. Good luck to Mickey , Sam and the lads.

Yeah looking forward to the weekend, We all know the team now bar injuries. Maybe a change in midfield. We had a great league with a team playing with confidence and no small amount of style. Great to watch. Wouldn't underestimate Carlow one bit and I am sure neither will Micky or the team. Hope we come firing out of the blocks and we have a great day. Up Louth.

Looking forward to seeing the team on the fine Navan grass. Should be close at halftime with Louth to pull clear in second half. Every team has its day and Carlow have nothing to lose here so will still be nervous

No denying who the winner was today, no talk of about a flukey score winning it either. The hearties of congratulations to Mickey Harte and his team.

Your game with Kildare should, to say the least be interesting.

Best of luck to all concerned.
