Rodgers a big physical unit who has some boot on him but he definitely isn't comfortable on short kickouts. I was in Donegal a bit this year and saw Dungloe twice and he was going very long straight down the middle nearly every time.

Similar to Mulreany who's not comfortable on short ones either. Maybe going long is the best option, get it as far away from your own goals as possible. For that , Rogers is probably the better option.

Going long makes no sense as it would be a 50/50 ball and possession is King.

Some win for Meath. They top now. So we can play them if we get to a quarter. And it's nice seeing Kerry lose the first real test they had in the group stage. The playing field is very level. Would love a Galway win over Armagh to completely shake the groups up. eddieSize5Balls (Donegal) - Posts: 161 - 14/06/2025 18:07:50 2617401 Link 0 |
Kerry's defeat changes everything. shaggykev (Donegal) - Posts: 362 - 14/06/2025 18:14:54 2617408 Link 1 |
You have summed my own thoughts up on it perfectly. I think the best case scenario is now for both ourselves & Tyrone to win, thereby ensuring we finish second in the group. This Championship has been nuts. But good nuts! Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9804 - 14/06/2025 18:58:59 2617417 Link 0 |
Just about to post something similar. The draw has opened up big time and the complexion of tomorrow now means a positive result is certainly in our best interests. A home game v a Cork or Louth with a potential quarter against Meath/Monaghan/Down looks a lot rosier than a potential trip to Killarney against a wounded Kerry. In relation to Rogers I can see the reasoning. Mayo like Tyrone have some big men and I suppose Jim sees making it 50/50 with a long ball a better option than the meltdown at the end against Tyrone. Hopefully Patton is good to go. Great to see a couple of the under twenties deservedly make the team of the year. Conor McCahill can consider himself unlucky not to make it. While Muldoon is clearly a fantastic talent he did show he's more development to do in the McRory cup final this year.

Galway in huge trouble at half time

It's a mad game. Armagh have looked good, but Galway missed two penalties, butchered another one 2 minutes into 2nd half, and now are after getting one. Momentum can be huge.

With every team now having been beaten at least once, this years All Ireland Champions could now be a team that has lost twice. Cork are still in it, with only having won one single game so far. SouthOfTheGap (Donegal) - Posts: 803 - 14/06/2025 20:19:33 2617455 Link 0 |
