Replying To Ulsterchamps72:  "Sure I'll play along and give you the facts. Ballaghaderreen was once upon a time, part of County Mayo. It became a Roscommon town under the Local Government Act of 1898. There are two versions of the reasons behind this, one being, that the Mayo local authority of the time owed a sum of money to its Roscommon counterpart and basically just handed over the town so that the people who lived there could pay off the debt through their rates. The second account holds the local MP of the time felt the rates charged by the Mayo local authority were too high, certainly in comparison to those paid to the Roscommon authority and so he had the boundary redrawn to place the town in Co. Roscommon. Take your pick! Ballaghaderreen is in Co. Roscommon by nearly 5 miles and in fact Ballaghaderreen GAA underage players compete for Co. Roscommon in the Community games. Ballaghaderreen is in Roscommon. Perhaps Yew can bail you out with regards to a neutral venue decision, but I doubt it.
Now, back to the game as I don't think you can dispute what you should have learned in School."
In fact Balla players compete for Roscommon in community games? All of them ? Do they now ? Who is telling you this ? I love how you are pretending to be an expert on this which you clearly aren't. I am from East Mayo and grew up playing against the Balla boys. You have half baked information. But please feel free to pretend you know more than people from the area.

Replying To Ulsterchamps72:  "I hate to go back to this, bust I've a small query on that statement? Mayo played Roscommon and Dublin in The Hyde last year. Please send us the reference for that change this year. I heard and I was chatting someone don't count. We need the exact reference as I believe it doesn't exist."
I don't have an exact reference or rule to quote or send. As I said just what I was told. Don't shoot the messenger.

Check out Malachy Clerkins article with the great Johno, Irish Times Sat Jul 29 2017, it explains all for you. This is the referenced article you sought as you didn't apoear to do local history at school. PS, I worked in Ballaghaderreen for a number of years, so have the insight into the place and Durkins is a much better public house than Solan's. Ballaghaderreen, however remains in Co Roscommon. I've to sign off as I've been lucky enough to get Munster final tickets and have to head in.

Ah the great Johno and one article tells us everyone represents Roscommon in the community games and speaks for all underage players. Nope. Ah of course you worked there for years. Of course.

Man who claims to have worked in Balla for years only states it now and only after using the article he googled first for his research. Absolute bluffer.
