I hear there's a young Murphy fella from Glenswilly added to the squad.

Senan Carr - pace to burn and a keen eye for goal.

How is there a new u20 County Manager for next year, thought they did fairly well last year under S P Barrett. jacktheboy (Donegal) - Posts: 448 - 11/11/2024 13:39:59 2579226 Link 0 |
its a bit worrying how they just announced it. Like something the old regime would have done. Lack of transparency of the process used to appoint him

Must say Boyle is highly rated. Should be a good appointment.

Plus he worked with bonner for a few years and coached n Conal this last two years . So cv will be good. Young man too.

I think Senan Carr made his senior debut last season, but may have been in the U20 contingent. The new rules probably would suit Jamie Brennan too, he has always been out ahead of his man, but usually hits a roadblock then. Commodore (Donegal) - Posts: 1198 - 11/11/2024 14:51:14 2579237 Link 0 |
Did they?

Muldoon is up. Hearing a squad of 40+ up training full of young lads and hoping to unearth a new Moore. I was down doing a delivery in Gweedore yesterday and was told the SOS call is out for a few lads to come back from Oz and London Whyme923 (Donegal) - Posts: 13 - 12/11/2024 08:53:28 2579317 Link 0 |
Huge credit needs to be given to the lads aged 25+ who came in this season and didn't get much game-time for one reason or another. They knew what they were signing up for, and evidently their experience helped massively in training. The nature of McGuinness' intensive coaching will mean high turnover, and would not be surprised to see another Moore unearthed, but I hope a good few of those lads stick around in the extended squad to have a chance at picking up an AI medal. A talented and committed bunch of players busting their gut at #30 to #45 makes the world of difference in today's game. SurelyToGod (Donegal) - Posts: 437 - 12/11/2024 10:44:54 2579331 Link 0 |
Four Masters to win it for me. Going well. 16s are in the McGirr cup on sunday and the 18s in the Pauls over xmas. 2 Ulster comps.

IF 40+ players are meeting somewhere and training, then Donegal are breaking the rules on collective training which is not supposed to start until December 7th, yet nobody on here seems to have a problem with it, win at all costs I guess. The GPA have no credibility at all, on one hand they're advocating to get rid of pre-season tournaments because of 'burnout' , but turn a blind eye to counties openly flaunting the rules set out by the GAA around collective training.

Not just the GPA. The GAA themselves are as bad when it comes to paying managers. Turning a blind eye to it as you say and pontificating about an amateur sport.

Great appointment. Boyle would have been someone they head hunted for the job. Good to see the county board make that call.

I suspect this is trolling nonsense purposely to stir the pot on here, with the view to getting posters from other Counties making noise and it eventually reaching tabloids and GAA investigating. There may have been trials for players who were not part of the main squad last year or haven't been called up before, but definitely not collective County team training. I find it hard to believe that a genuine Donegal GAA fan would be on here telling the world about it on a National GAA forum, It seems too much like trolling, usually you can spot troll accounts by the low number of posts or how they word sentences. A few years ago it was discovered due to wording/typing style, that one HS poster has multiple accounts here such as Bainisteoir (National), Ulsterman (Antrim), Cbar (Mayo) and even a Carlow account and was able to stir the pot on various threads by adding multiple voices. Let's call a spade a spade Commodore and take off the blinkers. You know fine well what's going on and I'd say you've heard it as well. Anyway, hoping we can get 1/2 new squad players that can push the 20/21 lads for game time. Whyme923 (Donegal) - Posts: 13 - 13/11/2024 10:34:14 2579476 Link 1 |
No Linda Martin, I honestly haven't heard any such rumours apart from on here, which is why I suspect trolling.
