Yeah double scores against us last week, they gave us a bigger tanking in the league aswell. One county player makes a world of a difference in the Junior champ, Carndonagh and Muff have yet to benefit but Naomh Ultan have really made a statement of intent early. Exciting championship to come!

For mccumhaills think gavigan was suspended as well after straight red the last day. Without all them players they'll be very happy to have won. Would be great to see their full team out against nc the next day to see what they are really like. Unfortunately they're unlikely to take chances with any doubtful players.

Took in Eunans win today over Naomh conaill. Impressive win and laying down an early marker, plenty of talent. It'll be interesting to see if they meet again. Tricky ties next for both, Eunans and Gweedore and Naomh conaill away to Maccumhaills. Maccumhaills seem to be improving, but I wonder when the last time was Naomh conaill lost back to back games? donegalgael-12 (Donegal) - Posts: 9 - 18/08/2024 23:59:41 2565743 Link 0 |

MacCumhaills were down a few alright, might not get all of them back either any time soon. Dungloe, St Michaels, MacCumhaills, Glenswilly, Four Masters all on 4 points…..what were the odds on that! ThroughTheGap (Donegal) - Posts: 41 - 19/08/2024 09:41:42 2565770 Link 0 |

The AFL combine is taking an interest in Finbarr Roarty. It could be a great opportunity for him but selfishly I'd love for him to stay home and play for the county. NPadraigAbu (Donegal) - Posts: 81 - 19/08/2024 12:36:24 2565812 Link 0 |
Big win for Eunans at the weekend, Pauric Boyle from Monaghan is a good addition to them. County players stood out a lot. Naomh Conaill will still be team that everyone has to beat to win the Championship. Some good games this weekend coming; Four Masters v Glenswilly, Aodh Ruadh v Ardara, Nauls vs Kbegs, McCools vs Naomh Conaill, Cloughaneley v Downings all should be tight games. Any mention of Eunans and you're on the defensive. You need to chill out haha

Hardly surprising from what I was told at a game at the weekend. Bit of a botched job it seems.

What is the reason behind this transfer request? I wouldn't know much about Naomh Ultan but hate to see smaller clubs losing players like this. Last year we had a very high profile transfer in our own county when Jack McCarron hung his club out to dry to transfer to Scotstown.

Always wonder what happens after a failed transfer. Does he just go back into training like nothing happened or does he sit out and apply again or what?

I wonder was the move being influence by his father. Be interesting to see if he will play for Naomh Ultan now, would be a great addition to their senior team

His father Michael Hegarty played for Donegal & Kilcar for many years. Kilcar are 1 of the strongest senior teams in the County, Naomh Ultan play junior football.

Kilcare being "strong" is on the way down Their best players are all in their 30s and they have produced little to nothing of anything good in a long time.. wont sniff the championship this year eddieSize5Balls (Donegal) - Posts: 87 - 20/08/2024 19:50:42 2566060 Link 0 |

No u weren't - shame on u for writing off your players. It's a thing in donegal where some stupidity write players off - I remember people saying Frank mc glynn was past it at 28. eunans4ever (Donegal) - Posts: 1678 - 21/08/2024 10:45:00 2566112 Link 0 |
I think to describe it as the Big Transfer is being very unfair to all involved. The young lad wanted to transfer down the road to the home club of his father, a legend at the Kilcar club and the current manager of Kilcar. Young Hegarty wasn't allowed to do so as he was deemed to be not working or living in Kilcar which is fair enough. The county boards of the country are trying to protect small clubs to help them keep their players which is good policy but they are doing nothing to counteract the large clubs from becoming stronger and stronger. Let me explain. fionmaccumhaill (Donegal) - Posts: 45 - 21/08/2024 10:47:22 2566114 Link 0 |
I wouldn't read anything into our game. Glenties/fintown won't panic at all and will regroup. 1 major difference between the last few meetings was we looked much sharper, fitter and stronger aswell as actually kicking the ball a lot more - putting that down to an improved set up on the line. Can't remember the last time we or anyone for that matter won over there back to back. Be interesting to see if we can back it up when it matters in straight knock out against them… eunans4ever (Donegal) - Posts: 1678 - 21/08/2024 10:49:56 2566116 Link 0 |
