Replying To TheRock2121:  "Our players are up there with the best in the country and if you can't see that, then you aren't looking close enough. In my opinion the squad is more talented than the 2012 team. We have far better footballers now compared to that team but to be classified as the same level as them, we need to win the big one. It definitely can be argued that the 2012 team had better man markers. An area where we are badly lacking this time around."
Would agree with most of what your saying about our current squad rock, only taught I can't get outa my head is to compare both our All Ireland winners full forward line with the current dosnt stack up, apart from oisin were simply not getting enough direct scores outa the other two, now don't get me wrong there working there socks off but down the Rd when we meet tighter back lines are we going get the frees. I'm hoping to be proved wrong but I believe Jim needs to unearth a couple of real danger men inside tbh.

His term as senior manager was being debated not minor teams or club teams. It's a sign you're beat when you have to move the goalposts.

So he's not responsible for Murphy's goal in the 2012 final either. He might be responsible for starting jigger that day. Just saying

I'll answer any question you keep on topic, no problem whatsoever. I won't when you move the goalposts. I value my time more than that. You might n't but that's up to you.

If you want to debate his time as senior county manager come back to me. If not, then you're a beaten docket and you're done.

In more ways than one going by another posters request to the mods earlier.

So losing to Derry by 4 points who, being the third best team in Ireland this year will make us really competitive. Got it.

Wasn't expecting you to answer it, it's not the first time you backed down. Your some man gaving me a lecture. I don't slate ex donegal managers on here at every opportunity . But when someone stands up to you you tell them you'll only answer questions that you want them to ask,you wernt a politician in another life .. a wee break might do you the world of good no need to be getting worked up.

Nonsense - Johnny Haran and Maxi brought Shaun back from soccer to gaa in 2014 haven previously played underage with the club.

I agree on Declan been a "good" mgr but that's as far as it goes - your wasting your time debating him in the same category as the "great" mgrs.

I do admire your loyality to him however blinded that may be.

Not all of us have as much free time as you when working for a living.

What outsiders got us players ??

If you're referring to Shaun again - he played for us underage growing up - if you knew anything about the club scene you'd know that. Life doesn't revolve around the county team - it begins with your local club.

How do we see the Fermanagh game going? I would be quietly confident that we'll get the job done and get another two points on the board. The fact that it's in Letterkenny, and against a confident Fermanagh team would just make me a wee bit edgy all the same. Player for player, we're a better team but we'll need to be tuned in and take nothing for granted. They'd love nothing better than to take our scalp.

Jim has been changing things up game by game. Some of it injury-enforced and probably wants to get game time into as much of the panel as possible. It's no longer a cliche to say it's a 26 man game now. We need all panel members to be able to step in and make a contribution when required. Different sport obviously, but I was interested to hear Erik ten Hag's comments on Scott McTominay last Sunday evening after his late winner against Aston Villa. He made the point that McTominay was always ready to come in and make a difference, whether it was as a starter or an impact sub. No complaining, just head down, work hard and add value to the team when introduced. I would say that's exactly the kind of culture Jim is trying to cultivate within the squad.

Shaun Patton played two Ulster club championship for st eunans a year or two before bonner persuaded him to join the Donegal set up. Patton was playing with Sligo rovers but got injured and cork city approached him. He said he was thinking of going to cork but bonner persuaded him to join the Donegal squad the rest they say is history. Doesn't sound good on a big club like eunans that it would take an outsider to get Patton.. I know it hurts you but admit I'm right. If I must say myself I'm seldom wrong. Enjoy your break now true to form you had 4 goes at me this morning..

Yeah, the match being in Letterkenny is the only thing that makes me think Fermanagh have any chance but our most recent record there is slightly better so let's hope that continues.
Would be nice to see Langan getting back into the swing of things, very important player for us and he can do things that others can't.

Folks I follow Kieran Gillespie on instagram and he is in some shape..He put up a video of him hitting balls on a pitch and he looked very comfortable...I know he's had two very bad knee injuries but what age is he and is he'll definitely gone from county team..what a massive talent he was...

You definitely cannot look too far ahead. For now the first priority is to get one or two more wins to make sure we are in the All Ireland series. If we achieve that the next thing is promotion to make sure we are in the All Ireland for next year. If that happens we have to decide if the Ulster Championship or the group stages is the next main aim.I have a feeling Mickey Harte will have the All Ireland as his priority having won two All Irelands through the back door.Donegal in contrast tend to become very deflated when they exit Ulster apart from 2003.

Don't think it's going to happen so probably best just to ignore him. He doesn't seem to have the capacity to engage in grown up debate. Maybe he is on his school holidays as another poster suggested.

After a while he may get fed up listening to himself as the rest of us have.

Kieran Gillespie was an absolute beast of a defender prior to his injuries, looked a like a powerful full back or corner back in the making at that stage. Very sad for young player like him, but sounds like he might be on the road back.

Conor Morrison was another ferocious corner back who got badly injured, seen him in Club Championship in Glenties this year and I thought he looked impressive again, might make it back to County level again soon.

Luke Keaney in 2014 looked like another future Corner back but he also suffered hip issues I think and his career ended, we've definitely missed out on a few top quality defenders due to injury. He definitely had massive potential.

My gut instinct is that we will have enough to beat this feisty Fermanagh side, expect it to be a tough physical encounter, similar to the Cavan game, but I think Fermanagh are not as strong as Cavan and I think we should edge it.
