One man I didn't see on Sunday, and haven't heard any word of, is Stephen McMenamin. Has anybody heard any word on him?

Who deserves a shot starting next week in the Mc Kenna Cup? With the league and championship just around the corner it will be interesting to see what team he goes with.

Any word on players who have left the panel ?

From the 20s of two years ago I thought McGroddy,Tobin and Dunleavy would go on to be senior players particularly Tobin but I suppose you never be sure how young players develop.

Shaun Patton

Caolon Mc Colgan
Brendan Mc Cole
Odhran Doherty

Mogan
Ban Gallagher
Kevin mc gettigan

Micheal langan
Ciaran Moore

Conor O Donnell
Niall O Donnell
Shane O Donnell
Aaron Doherty

Oisin Gallan
Jamie Brennan

Don't know where we are with injuries and it's only the Mc kenna cup but would like to see the above team getting a run out next week. Plenty of pace and power albeit quite small. Strong bench with plenty of regulars such as Ryan, Thompson, Paddy, Mc Gonagle.

Hi TheRock2121: Mc Gonagle on the bench! Your having a laugh. Jim will be building the team around that man. Is there space on the team for the 2 O Donnell brothers with them being similar type players.

Do you not think that Paddy,Ryan and Ciaran will be important players for us too?

Why would you change the full back line that played against Roscommon? McColgan won't be playing corner back. Can see argument for Kevin McG starting half back, but Curran McCole McGettigan is likely first choice full back line all year.

Heard there was a challenge game against Mayo in the Convoy CoE today, anyone heard about a result?

Because we shipped more goals yet again, we need to find someone else to join Mc Cole, he is the only guaranteed starter in the FB line in my eyes. If we're playing Ban at six and not four.

Mayo played against themselves in the Prentydome yesterday and had a huge victory!

Mayo playing with themselves was a good way for them to end their year.

Sad comment it was a charity match for motor neurone disease that raised a lot of money!

Not sure, probably not good enough at his age and with his injury issues in recent years. I see he's gonna be assistant to Declan Bonner in Fermanagh

I was not at the Roscommon match so I could not argue with you if the full-back line were or weren't at fault for goals, but in the 2023 season the majority of goals against and scores against in general clearly came from lack of coverage and individual errors in the half-back area.

EBG would be wasted at 4. Again, could be a case for McCole as a more defensive but less dynamic centre half-back, but there is no other number 3.

I would imagine McGuinness would prefer to fix his team into some combination of the below (please bear with me):

Patton
Curran McCole K. McG/S. McM
DÓB Gallagher Mogan/McColgan/K. McG
McMonagle McFadden
Langan SOD Thompson
Farah McBrearty Brennan/Mogan/NOD

All dependent on the form of some key experienced players like McFadden, McBrearty and McCole. McGettigan needs to make step up to inter-county which I am sure he can but it remains to be seen. Mogan might be the most electric winger we have, but remains to be seen if he can fit right into the team again, or if he fits whatever mould McGuinness chases. Same goes for NOD; if anything, NOD will need to give time and a half the effort of all others.

McGee,McGonigle,McFadden,Langan,Thompson. How many of the above midfielders can be played at the same time without compromising the dynamic game Jim likes to play.
