Replying To Whateveryourhavingyourself:  "Explain how looking at a league table will enlighten someone about a teams discipline.

League positions are a reflection of a number of things, the players available, the strength of competing sports, the size of the possible playing population, the habit of a club to steal players from other parishes and more.

Discipline would have very little to do with not being successful look at who were the best junior team in Donegal this year and look at their discipline record including when they beat your own club Convoy. Few red cards for each side in that game."
"The habit of a club to steal players from other parishes", there's seems a bit of bitterness in that post.

Steal players, lord above. If he is talking about the player who left his club he certainly wasn't "stole". He could t wait to get away from them and who could blame him. I suspect plenty more will follow.

My club has lost players to Eunans, Gweedore and Convoy and to Armagh to name a few so well used to players moving. But you never replied to the substantive part of my post how does league standings reflect on discipline.

Stand over your argument.

You made a statement "politics needs to be taken out of it" The new Chairperson Elect has been very active in her local club for years including the current Secretary.
Have you a problem with her? Are you in favour of the current status quo where apart from the past year ( and he didn't last long ), a few people have been rotating the Chair amount themselves.
Surely a change will do no harm as for the past while the County Board has been very poor and have been a hindrance when others are trying there best to get a proper Academy up and running.

60,000 euro to build a fence to shield the training ground and 80,000 euro for a week long training camp in Tenerife next week. Is this true?
Jimmy's winning sponsorship!

Indeed, good point a big well done to Setanta.

And if he is, fair play to him. People believe in him and what he's trying to do. Has the success to show what he's about, been there done that. I love that the man will leave no stone unturned to get Donegal to the best possible level. Plenty of petty comments flying around at the minute, not saying yours is at all but there is a good whiff of fear and envy in some of the quarters where it is coming from.

Indeed, a fence around the training pitch, extra gym equipment and a trip away may seem to some an unnecessary expense but if the cost is being covered by donors then I don't see any issue with it. McGuinness can't guarantee success but we can be assured that the team's training and preparation will be on a par with the top teams in the country.

Looks like Michael won't be coming back after all, I thought he might have gave it one last rattle as a true FF for another season or two for us. but the man is a legend and he owes us nothing and we have no right to expect any more from him, he carried us many a day on his own.
It's just a pity Jim didn't come back in lets say after 2020, the wheels came off the cart a bit after that unexpected loss to Cavan,
ideally Bonner should have gone then but anyway it's all water under the bridge now.
Looking forward to the new season, get promoted and get ready for Derry in April.

Murphy was never coming back. Once he went public with the announcement that was it. I'm surprised people thought that he would..

You also said McGuinness would never come back and laughed at those who did, you're rarely wrong as you say yourself but not right too often either..

Did many go on the training trip? Any players away playing Sunday for their u21 club? If so, will it be full steam ahead at the training camp for them?

Are the glenties lads away or did they miss out?

Big Difference mc Guinness said he was concentrating on soccer, Murphy announced he retired and wasn't coming back. No wild debate. Murphy has done his time now it's imperative that we keep gallen fit. We are short of marquee forwards.

Michael has a handy number now with GAAGO and he's just married and has other things on his mind, but he is still the one of the best players in the country, I know if it was me they'd have to drag me away from the chance to keep playing for the county as long as I was able to contribute at all, when you see the likes of Conor McManus and what he can still do at his age.
