Replying To eunans4ever:  "Agreed - it's not gonna change either in the coming years with the messiah back at the helm and looking at how much success glenties/Fintown have got from it - it's here to stay I'm afraid…"
every team and their coaches are free to play however they want. Its a bit ridiculous when teams blame other clubs and Jim McGuinness for their own club's style of play.

Totally correct, I was at the Naomh Conaill v St Eunans match in Glenties. Both teams played the exact same way, defensive and break at pace when they win the ball back. Kilcar and Aodh Rua ( Kilcar man in charge ) play the same way. Until a manager comes up with a way to counteract that system I can't see it changing any time soon.

Yeah I think a lot of teams sort of shrugged their shoulders and it was a case of if we can't beat them, join them type of thinking when it comes to tactics.

It would be interesting to see if some manager could come up with some novel new system to blow the current trend out of the water. It wouldn't be easy though, it's a results business and it would take a brave manager to go out and try something radical. He could get laughed out of the room!

Replying To eunans4ever:  "I agree yes but unfortunately that's the level glenties/Fintown bring the game down to and let ourselves get sucked into it…..

Lots of lessons better have been learnt in the camp from that"
So st eunans men can't think for themselves and have to get sucked into it. Maybe it's for the best that your manager didn't get the county job then.

I always find it laughable that Naomh conail and McGuinness get blamed for the game being destroyed in the county and country.
Like if I am managing a team, it's up to me how the team plays, a strong manager does that.

Still no sign of fixtures for next weekend. How do clubs put up with this nonsense. What is the delay? It's time the county board gave respect to players and supporters by letting them plan their weekend for players that have to travel. They weren't long fixing the Killybegs v Nauls game when it suited them.

Your right total lack of respect. From reading the local papers the ccc seem to be changing the rules by the day. If the reason that's being going about why the st nauls v killybegs game is on this evening heads have to roll plus bonner unhappy with having to play a championship match because of the ccc mistake. Junior and senior players deserve the same respect as senior clubs they put in the same effort as senior teams..

Our Div 1 minor semi-finals are on this evening and 2 very close games in store. You wouldn't even know they were taking place.

What's the reason it was brought forward?

Odd decision to have the semi finals on different weekends.

This type of football will be here to stay until the rules change a little to counter it. For example, allowing keepers roam out the field should be ended, or maybe some form of rule that prevents players just passing it back to the keeper when they face a little pressure.

Third attempt at posting. Is there a certain player away tomorrow for a team that won tonight?

Nobody can tell that clubs are treated with the same respect in Donegal. Unless you are one of the supposedly big clubs forget about it. A lot of anger amongst certain clubs.

If anyone had any doubts about that , the last week has shown it to be true.

I don't see any favouritism toward big clubs, I just think the CCC and county board have lost all credibility when it comes to getting things right.
The dogs in the street know that common sense should have been to put the two games off until next wkend.
But I think st nauls and Na rossa should have been stronger in there defience, and stated they were not playing under no circumstances this wkend.
Sometimes you have to take a stand, and if that means not showing up then so be it.
As a club you have to be united and strong, and stick together no matter what the outcome. In the long run your club will be stronger for it.
As a Naomi conail man, I actually felt sorry for the teams that were forced to play this wkend, and wished they took a stronger stance.

Agree 100%. No way should Nauls have played. We seem to accept this nonsense and politics in Donegal and roll over. Our academy still hasn't been sorted and 9 months have passed now.
