Replying To rorysboys:  "Not very fair lad. These lads have trained hard all year and are committed. Just because you're a good footballer doesn't make you a certainty to play for your county. You need attitude for one as an old county manager used to say county football is not for everybody. By the way who do you think should be there."
Ah now do you really want me to be naming players. Do you not go to club games to know this?

Think Charles McGuinness was frustrated with his lack of playing time. When the All County league started he asked to play for NC, he was told no, played anyway. Bye bye.

Yea it would be interesting to hear what players you think should be there. I go to a lot of club games and the only people I could name are players who were there before and left the squad possibly because county football wasn't for them..

These are the next best 15 who are not in the squad. I think three of the below are currently up at county training. All of the below to the best of my knowledge are playing club football currently in Donegal. I added Murphy in as was stuck on forwards ! I know some of the below have opted out for different reasons so can't be excusing management of not calling on them. I'd be fairly confident the below team would beat Down and our own team this Sunday, no disrespect to the Donegal lads who train hard every week and are representing their county this weekend. Just highlighting what we are missing. Also add in the likes of MC Brearty, Paul Brennan, Odhran MC Fadden Ferry who are all injured. Be a great result if we got a win this weekend considering all of that.

He wasn't county standard anyway so probably better sticking with the club.

Agree with a few of those names however there are many, MANY better players outside the big 6 senior clubs.

Like who. Easy saying it but are they. We have 9 of the Ulster final team if langan as predicted starts and 3 subs who came on in the starting 15 tomorrow. Nucleus of a good team still there. The one thing that sticks out apart from Curran it's the same personal as this last few years. Mc colgan in squad last year. Fair play to the boys who are there year in year out forget about people who are not there, the boys who are there are there because they want to be there. I'll be delighted for these lads if they pull it off tomorrow.. I'm fully expecting a win.

If you were in the ODP this evening you'd have got your answer. Killybegs are shocking.

Why are people on here who call themselves Donegal supporters pining for players who arent in the squad,
many of them who are either retired or made themselves unavailable. You would be better to support the players currently in the squad who have been working hard for ages now training in the depths of winter when we were all sitting at home by the fire. These lads deserve everyone's support, not people constantly undermining them

whats wrong with 3 Milford players on panel, Dont know much about them but O Donnell was Captain of under 20 team a few yearsago, Barrett was one of the leading scorers in Club Football last year in the County and saw Dorrian playing for LYIT last year and looks like a ready make replacement for Ryan McHugh , which cant be bad.

Let's hope for a win. I was only highlighting those not available to us.

Wonder who Jim is rooting for today! What I wouldn't give to have him in our dugout.

Fantstic first half fron our Minor Team here in Newry. 2 - 13 to 0 - 2 ahead at the break. Briliant 1st half display, a joy to watch. Moving the ball quickly and some magnificent score taking. If this is what our future Academy will bring bring it on.........

I fault not one of those lads in a Donegal jersey today.

Regardless of what else is going on in the county, that performance from the players was so far below par. It was the players who ousted Paddy Carr. His absence doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Jamie Brennan was anonymous. How he was kept on for the whole game is a joke. Ciaran Thompson went out of the game for large periods. These are lads who need to lead.

Thought O'Baoill, McGee and Ward put in a decent shift but we are lacking in so many areas. Down lack real talent but they worked so hard as a team with real hard running on and off the ball. Donegal are too passive, over and back with no penetration.

I understand we are missing quality players but the work ethic and desire should be the same, regardless of personnel.

This year is a write-off. We need a new management team that is going to breathe new life into this team. Because if we keep going on this road, we will playing Div 3 football and Sam Maguire will be a distant memory.
