Why wasn't the big car draw posted up on any social media of a live draw. It's very unprofessional and not acceptable given the money paid out to support. I'm not saying anything underhand happened but it's a backwards move by the county board. williesboy (Leitrim) - Posts: 450 - 03/08/2022 17:00:26 2436070 Link 1 |

What does it matter? Live streaming is only around a few years, were draws prior to this not professional? You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. All was above board and the necessities published. Go troll elsewhere. Sad to see Killashee forfeit to Slashers but the murmurings were there all year that this would happen so not at all surprising. I suspect this is it that they are now out of the championship liosbreac6265 (Longford) - Posts: 255 - 04/08/2022 17:09:39 2436236 Link 0 |
I feel sorry for Killashee. It was only a matter of time before all the messing the CB have done with our leagies and championship that this would happen. When are they going to wake up and realise that there should be a maximum of 10 senior championship teams......in reality there is only about 8. An equal split down the 3 grades bar one or two less in junior is the only way to go. Far too big of a step from Intermediate to Senior. Whereas Legan are showing there's not that much from Junior to Intermediate. Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1346 - 04/08/2022 17:25:18 2436237 Link 0 |
They streamed the prizes leading into the main draw and did steam the draw for the last car. I said nothing understand happened but it's not right either. You must be close to it to get easily offended and most people don't have any confidence in the county board either williesboy (Leitrim) - Posts: 450 - 04/08/2022 17:57:26 2436244 Link 1 |
This could prove to be a logistical disaster for the County Board. Scoring averages cannot now be used to determine group positions. If more than 4 teams qualify for knockout positions in one group there will be a serious of playoff matches. Also will they be drawing lots for group positions

I'm not sure how you have concluded that I am offended. I just replied to your nonsense. How can it be "not right" when nothing wrong was done? I'm not close to it at all, I just think criticism should be fair. The killashee walkover might not cause that much of a headache as when teams are level it goes to the result between the teams first. After that though it could cause a major headache. Hopefully it doesn't come to a series of playoffs, what a disaster that would be. liosbreac6265 (Longford) - Posts: 255 - 05/08/2022 11:45:26 2436299 Link 0 |
Does anyone here know what has happened to Kilashee this year? Did they lose a number of players to emigration or injury or something? Think I read here or somewhere else they only had 17 players togged the last day. iluvspuds (Longford) - Posts: 160 - 05/08/2022 16:16:33 2436353 Link 0 |
I heard that a lot of their younger players headed off travelling. It is a pity for the club and all involved.

As an exile abroad is there any of the current intermediate clubs that can make the step up to senior and be competitive in the next couple of years (the key word being competitive). catchturnscore (Longford) - Posts: 151 - 07/08/2022 19:36:13 2436571 Link 0 |
Whoever comes up from Intermediate will be going straight back down next year. The gap between both grades is astronomical.

could be wrong but i dont think so. the senior championship needs to be 10 teams maybe even 8 to make sure teams coming up are fit for it. we cant allow another killashee situation to arise again, its no good for no one. the senior championship looks competitive now this year but i dont think thats the standard that has risen it is that it has fallen in killoe and mullinlaghta. those two can still win it, killoe won it before after loosing 2 group games but not as clear as other years. any of killoe, mullinlaghta, colmcille, dromard, slashers could win it

I heard tonight that Dominc Corrigan has a backroom team of Collie Clarke (Clonguish), John Twaddle (Young Grattans) and Dermot McCabe (Gowna) assembled and is very interested in taking the County job if asked. Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1346 - 08/08/2022 21:17:15 2436732 Link 0 |
A few, myself included, were pinning their hopes on Mickey Graham but now that has obviously gone with his two year extension in Cavan. Could do much worse than Corrigan

Clarke and Twaddle! Haha

Trolling again I see. Twaddle managed at a high level in Westmeath. I wouldn't be a fan of Collie Clarke but he knows the Longford game well.

I would agree with Slasher9. None of the intermediate clubs will compete in the next few years. St Dominics are very strong under age at 12s and 13s. However that s no guarantee that they will come through to adult teams. Look at clonguish.ALways strong at underage but perennial under achievers at senior. After 2 rounds, it's hard to see past Mullinalaghta or Colmcille for the title. It is not going to be Killoe's year - A bit of work to do to get that team back to winning ways. If Colmcille can keep their momentum going they could go the distance. Great opportunity for them this year. LongfordgaaAbú (Longford) - Posts: 586 - 09/08/2022 14:54:48 2436828 Link 0 |
Clonguish always strong at underage? First minor win last year in 18 years and had not been very competitive during that period either so unless you think that group is underachieving already it is not true! For someone whose finger is on the pulse for the underage scene here you'll find clonguish are in the under 13 final after beating st dominics
