Good win today, wheels still moving forward. The last promotion spot is between Leitrim and Wexford, if you believe what you read!!

Great win at the weekend. Fair play to the lads. No reason can't go to Wexford and get the win and promotion.

You are the only county apart from Laois who have it in their own hands. The Leitrim and Wexford hopes depend on other results.

I know, but there has been a bit of chat on the Leitrim forum between Leitrim and Wexford fans and you'd swear the last spot was just between the 2 of them. To be honest Wexford would be favourites as they are at home. The big win they had over Tipp really has them now as strong favourites to win on Sunday.

I don't think any Leitrim Supporter thinks it is between themselves and Wexford. Longford have in their own hands and must be favourites.

What is a fact is there is a much greater interest in the outcome in Leitrim than Longford.

I put that down to expectations - Leitrim have been in the doldrums for years, while Longford have been operating at a higher level for many years and recently have back to back O Byrne Cups.

Longford with this experience must be favourites against Wexford. However with home advantage it could go either way.Add in Leitrim have to beat Tipperary, who although down are unlikely to be coming to Carrick just to show up.Their performance against Wexford was terrible but they did give Laois one hell of a game.

Anyone who thinks Longford can't win in Wexford hasn't a notion. They have got better as the leagues gone on.Funny enough I haven't seen anyone calling for the managers head in the last cut of weeks. They have their destiny in their own hands. If they win it won't matter a jot what happens in Carrick or Laois.

Paddy had the boys well fired up today.....top job!!! Now, get the spoofer out after the Tailteann Cup failure!! It's a blessing in disguise that we lost today, because if we had to of won, he would have got another year or two at it!!!

Haha Longford were never going to beat Wexford today.

Very disappointed with / for Longford today. They didn't look like a team that were playing for promotion, or had their destiny in their own hands. If Wexford had taken any of the several goal chances in the second half it could have been embarrassing for Longford.
Still feel somewhat cheated, a farcical injury time penalty in Carrick has cost us promotion.

Can't have any complaints - we didn't go for it at all today, even with promotion as the prize. Disappointed with the lack of hunger today, with a few notable exceptions. Hard outcome for the lads and fair play to those who stood up to be counted for the county this year. But reality is we are a division 4 team right now and that will take some work (and time) to change.

In for a long stay in Division 4. Wicklow and Limerick coming down. Wexford still there, 3 counties we struggle against. A number of players likely to step away at the end of the season.

The win over Leitrim was a false dawn. Should have read more into the struggle to get past Waterford than the Leitrim game. Is Paddy Christies term up after this year or has he a third year? If he has 2 years only, then a Leinster final appearance (no chance of happening) or a Tailteann Cup win (at this stage just as realistic as a Leinster final appearance) will save him!

He has won 2 O'Byrne cups. Will he be given the chance to make it 3 in a row next season

His time is up!! as much as I also want to see a change I honestly dont think it matters who comes in to manage Longford, we are now a mid table Div 4 side and will be the case for a number of years by the looks of it unfortunately!
Players are just not there anymore. Fair play to the lads currently given time and massive effort to represent Longford.

The O'Byrne cup wins are something to take from the last 2 years but lets be realistic, it was a B team competition with Dublin C team getting to the final this year and us going full selection when possible.

Travelled down on Saturday night and half the team at a wedding Friday night isn't the greatest preparation for a must win game.

Travelling down the day before was perfect for preparation and the wedding had no impact whatsoever. This isn't the Olympics.

Players are not used to staying over night before a game, like you said it's not the olympics so why not prepare like you normally do. Not everybody sleeps well when away.
Out late at a wedding isn't ideal either and the players looked heavy legged during the game.

Players are not used to 3 hour bus journeys either. You could complain no matter what was done there, I see no issue.
How do you know they were out late, were you there watching them? This is the type of dinosaur attitudes that turns lads off playing football. I have no doubt it had no bearing
