Replying To Leitrimforliam:  "Referee that reffed the game last friday night between Mohill and Gortletteragh"
Did he have that big of an influence on the outcome of the game. I would doubt it!!. It's hard enough to get referee's at the minute

Shouldn't be doing anything to discourage younger refs and active players may make fitter refs that can keep up with the game better. But with 1 big group, all games can affect everyone else even if just score difference which could be used to separate teams final positions. It may be best to keep him out of group games in senior. If his team qualifies for qtrs, give him relegation games at senior, or give him qtr final games if his team is in relegation playoff. Give him Intermediate group games in the mean time. I'm sure he refs impartially but best for himself to be taken out of games that affects his own team so they is no unfair accusations against him.

What's the rules in regards to young lads who play for clubs in the US during the summer? Are they allowed to return and play for their Irish club within the same summer?
I remember hearing about a Galway hurler (years ago) who was banned after playing for a club in the US.

Cannot play for clubs for 60 days after date of approval according to GAA website although it says other than in exceptional circumstances. List of all NY sanctions are on the GAA website, 3 from Leitrim. Conor Flood Allen Gaels, 13th June. Keith Beirne & Jordan Reynolds Mohill 26th June and 10th June. Conor and Jordan could be free to play this weekend. Keith may need to wait another 2 weeks.

Predictions for this weekend. I got 6 out of 11 last week. I got distracted by the Olympics. You got to love that breakdancing!

Gortletteragh v Mary's
Mary's should win this. Gortletteragh will hope for a better draw next week.
Mary's by 6

Fenagh v Annaduff
A loss for Fenagh, and they're out. Annaduff is having a good championship, but Fenagh will be too strong.
Fenagh by 5

Leitrim Gaels v Aughawillian
High stake game. Both teams have shown improved form after tough leagues. Home advantage might be enough.
Leitrim Gaels by 1.

Ballinamore v Dromahair
Anything but a big win for Ballinamore will be a surprise.
Ballinamore by 8

Mohill v Manor
Mohill is flying. Bad draw for Manor who look destined for relegation playoffs.
Mohill by 6

Intermediate
Kiltubrid v Aughavas
Aughavas have won their last 7 games.
Aughavas by 4

Ballinaglera v Drumkeerin
Both teams need this win.
Draw

Aughnasheelin v Drumreilly
Drumreilly is struggling at the moment.
Aughnasheelin by 6

Allen Gaels v Carrigallen
Both teams were hoping to avoid each other. Home advantage may help.
Allen Gaels by 1

Melvin Gaels v St Mary's B
Mary's 2nd team is no joke. But Melvin Gaels
should edge this.
Melvin Gaels by 3

Tonight's results reinforced the reason for the numbers in each championship to be reduced. Hammerings doled out.

All did not look well in the Fenagh camp after their big win last night, players and management remained on pitch for a long time.

Carrick had a very easy win in Gortletteragh last night. The home side down a few players from previous games tried hard but Carricks pace and power was far too much for them. Agree results like that reinforce the need for the championships to be reduced which will happen from this year on. Carrick have serious power , pace and strength in depth. My doubt about them remains have they the forwards to win the pressure games, we won't find that out until the latter stages of the championship.
Huge congratulations to the Leitrim under 16s on winning the Fr Manning Cup for the first time since 1990. Great achievement and on the back of the ladies all ireland win it gives the county a huge boost.

Great credit must be given to the head of underage coaching for this great win

What can you tell by a team huddle? I wasn't at it myself but what was the vibe

Is that SOH score right? That must be the highest score in Leitrim club football as records go? Either way, an 8 team senior championship can't come soon enough.

Tough evening for Dromahair yesterday evening a result like that is no good for either team.

In fairness if that is true about the player you mentioned then it isn't worth it because at the end of his career he will have the same amount of All Ireland senior medals as a Leitrim player."
That there is you're typical older Leitrim attitude,"why bother trying we're not going to win anyway"

It needs to be put to a 4 team senior championship if we are honest. That obviously can't happen. But 4 teams are so far ahead it's outrageous. I was at the Fenagh game on Friday Night they have the best forwards in the championship but defensively very open and this is where they may fall down. As for the disagreement between players and management looks like the management of Fenagh walked after the game how true this is I don't no but if they have then that's a huge blow to this group as they are very experienced management come crunch championship time.

It would be interesting to pin point why these 4 clubs are so far ahead of everybody else. Are St. Mary's, Fenagh, Mohill and SOH just all currently blessed with generational talents? Are their players just more committed and focused, were these clubs the first to introduce the nursery program and are now benefitting from bringing these players up and developing them properly.

They are so far ahead of the rest it's scandalous, not on them but on the gap between them and other senior clubs. The 41 point beating that Dromahair received in a senior championship game is harrowing stuff
