Connaught Telegraph Facebook page is reporting Kieran Donaghy for the Rossies along along with Paul Galvin
Wonder if this is true?

Kieran Donaghy with the top job. Did not see that coming. Has experience in D1 as part of Armagh background team last season

Never mind lads The Connaught Telegraph wide off the mark with that rumour.

The next rumour will be Mick O'Dwyer. This is getting beyond a joke. Pre Season training is soon happening. If the successful candidate is an outsider, he will in all likelihood have to start with last season's panel and begin to draft in new faces in the spring if he does not have a knowledge of the Roscommon club scene.

OK the last appointment which was also last minute did work out but no guarantee it will work a second time.

The Roscommon county board have got no1 worth talking about. I'd say they are afraid to say the names that are being interviewed. It will be pat Flanagan , Fergal O'Donnell, Liam Tully, may Nigel Dineen. All them names are out of touch with today's game as a managers or simply not good enough. Last night if you were a payer and heard Donaghy was going to be next manager with Paul Galvin then I'd say they were buzzing and couldn't wait to get back at it. With the names above I'm not so sure they would

Senior appointment to be made before the county club final on October 23rd says the county board chairman and he's happy that we have the option of a number of candidates that would be good enough.

Noel Dunning officially confirmed as the new U20 manager last night. Frankie Dolan current Roscommon Gaels manager and David Neary current Strokestown captain part of his management. Best of luck to them in what should be a very competitive Connacht championship.

I'd say if players seen that above list that they would retire from intercounty, so deflating for them to think they could be getting a ferrari of a set up and then wake up this morning to see we are back to a lada

Didn't the Roscommon County board say when the process started that no further comment would be made until its competed.

As a manager Donaghys CV is fairly bare and Paul Galvin inter County experience was walking away from Wexford in no time.

Those lads would have brought some amount of hype. A low profile appointment with a coach to shore up the defence is what the players of Roscommon need most.

What has those two Kerry lads done in management to be regarded as ferraris?

Outsider looking in i don't get this disrespect that some Roscommon posters have Nigel Dineen, Liam Tully between them led Roscommon to 4 underage All Ireland finals and Fergal O'Donnell who won the minor AI Ireland. Lada seriously?

Exactly, it's the above names. Brian Carroll's quotes last night said it all - the candidates are "good enough" not strong or excellent… wouldn't inspire confidence in anyone when he's talking like that. It's going to be an underwhelming appointment I'm afraid.

Was it Seamus Moore that had the song THE WINNING DREAM OF MINE. That's how Roscommon folk must feel after the news of landing Kieran Donaghy and Paul Galvin came about only for it to be totally unfounded.

Donaghy might only be starting off but Armagh people were panicking last night when that news broke.hes highly respected in Armagh. He's still playing the game he would be a fresh new manager that knows today's game. Any of the above candidate's already have there backroom teams from over the years and they won't change that. They aren't going to go get a top coach to sort out our defense. It will be lads from inside the county that will be on the backroom teams. Of Nigel Dineen is mentioned or Fergal O'Donnell what have they done in the last 6/7 years to even deserve an interview?
