Replying To Seanfanbocht:  "Dublin will be going for an insider, probably Ger Brennan."
Dublin are now well back in chasing pack. Getting to the last 4 will be considered a good yeat for them.

Ger Brennan is the obvious choice. But he will have a task on his hands getting Dublin back to the top.

Will Cluxton go. They do not seem to have a second choice keeper which is s concern for them. No doubt a lot of dilemmas for the next man at the helm

I don't think Roscommon will have any issue attracting a manager. They'll surely relish challenging for promotion in year two.

Is there learnings there for us from Meath in how an astute manager can turn things around in a short space of time? Things that stood out for me watching the QFs so far is how we really need to up the physicality and tackling intensity. Nothing really we can do about having tall men at midfield. Good direct play will be rewarded as well. We seem to have a lack of mobility compared to other teams. The way teams break at speed is such an advantage. Can this be worked on? Or even something that can be developed from underage.

Commiserations to our neighbours. Too many comebacks seemed to take its toll. Meath played a very hard but very attractive game and fair play to them.

Div 2 will be very interesting next year with Derry, Tyrone and Meath.

Davy Burke in his next media piece is sure to tell us all that two All Ireland semi finalists in Meath and kerry was in our group and both fully deserved their wins today. Meanwhile the group of death according to many pundits (Derry,Dublin,Galway and Armagh) all out before the last 4 stage.

What's the point in coming on here with silly wisecracks. You mustn't be too busy.

Too scared to play the almighty fermangh

Talking about us next year, bro I don't think you will even beat Waterford next year on current form

And of course unfortunately i don't think you will even win the all Ireland next year and beat Longford in division four in the Shannon side el Classico

Barry macnulty is class tho I'll give you that

I thought Armagh were really poor today but Roscommon certainly can learn from how Kerry targeted Rafferty's kick out. Listening to Jack O'Connor afterwards, it's obvious that Kerry had studied the direction of Armagh's kick outs to disrupt them.Ethan Rafferty imploded and Kerry, despite being minus their first choice midfield, dominated possession and romped home. Agree that Robbie Brennan has done a great job with Meath. They won't win the All Ireland this year but I'd say they'll win it in the next couple of years. With all the rule changes in the game, a team needs a serious manager to be competitive at the top level.

"Jez lads, Meath are a right good outfit" how many times did we hear that, swap Meath for any team that beat us!

I'd imagine Galway will join ourselves, Sligo and that other County in seeking a new manager.

Possible candidates for us
Don Connellan if health is ok
Mick Bohan, former Dublin ladies manager
Dessie Farrell if he doesn't want to take a break. Has Ros connections I believe.
Colm Collins who managed Clare very well for years.
Micky Harte with John Rogers.

From watching the games over the weekend you can clearly see many of our problems.
1. The game is about pace which we lack
2. Our conditioning is still well off to mix it at the QF table
3. We cough up scores too easily. Our defending is reactive not proactive.
4. Inconsistent in midfield
5. The top teams make very little handling errors ( unforced )
6. We've questions to be answered at number 1.

There are more issues to deal with and a proper centre of excellence is still a long way off. Not going to name them but some players have gone over the top now and are on the wane.
Going forward I believe we need an ex All Ireland winning player taking up the manager's role to instill a winning mentality. A top quality backs and forwards coach also and a few good men from within the county. We've not reached an All Ireland semi final since 1991 which is well over thirty years ago.
