Yes and this was the facts. Never mind lads The Connaught Telegraph wide off the mark with that rumour. The_analyser (Roscommon) - Posts: 3253 - 03/10/2022 21:46:11 . I'm truly humbled that you would set up yet another account to reply to me, no doubt i have left a lasting impression on you. I highly doubt anyone approached would factor in what supporters may think and what are the unrealistic expectations you speak of? Any manager taking over a Div 1 team will first look first to see what facilities they have to work with, do they have the cash to bring in top rated coaches to improve the defensive issues of the team and what will be the strength of the panel e.g any major drop outs. finally they'll look at the probability of staying in Div 1 and to be competitive in championship. I can't stop thinking of you. You're constantly on my mind. Well it obviously wasn't the facts because it was untrue. So spin all you like but it was embarrassing for you and your multi faceted accounts. Notrainingpitch (Longford) - Posts: 8 - 10/10/2022 16:45:51 2443445 Link 0 |
Multi faceted accounts, don't be confusing yourself with me. You wouldn't know the difference between rumours as was published in the national media and a fact is if it hit you in the face. How long will this latest account last? your obsession with me is well past embarrassing at this stage and all because I educated you on a topic that was way over your head. Are we about to take a massive step back with Cribbin seriously being linked with Roscommon job? dave1988 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1172 - 11/10/2022 13:04:50 2443567 Link 0 |
Pat Flanagan would be a better option than him and I've already given my views that Flanagan is more suitable to club football than inter County management.

Ah sure any of the two of them would be "good enough". rosco7 (Roscommon) - Posts: 48 - 11/10/2022 16:13:19 2443594 Link 0 |
Does anybody here know who's in the running. There was talk of Fergal O'Donnell at the weekend. It's no wonder that the Connacht Telegraph are playing April Fools in October with the way this appointment has been handled. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2312 - 11/10/2022 16:27:06 2443596 Link 0 |
Pat Flanagan, Cribben and were begging every manager that's been with corofin the last 10 years. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1777 - 11/10/2022 17:57:20 2443617 Link 0 |
Seems Don C couldn't be tempted while Nigel and Fergal didn't want to go for it. Now 4 months since the Clare debacle and we're still at the rumour stage. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2054 - 11/10/2022 18:27:11 2443627 Link 0 |
Tom Cribben would be a very good appointment. Huge experience and was highly regarded in westmeath taking them to the leinster final twice losing heavily to Dublin which we ourselves can testify too. Good experience with Kildare with Cian O Neill and Glen Ryan also. For me Cribben is the best candidate way ahead of FOD, PF, Davy Burke, Kevin O Brien etc. Some posters in saying why can't we attract top managers , eh simple reason we are not a top team of which there is about 5 of. Cribben won't suffer fools lightly if appointed and players not pulling their weight and we have a lot of those will pay the price. It will be good to see a freshness to the panel with some of the u20s from past 3/4 years becoming more regulars. Without discarding some players you'd fancy 2/3 that will be moved on after giving great service to the county jerseybat all age groups. Some may opt out and rumour there is 3 going travelling all that started in championship teams when fit. Nobody can blame them if they do. Young lads have to have lives also. He won't have to move on players it'll be a case of who is available. I don't rate him, getting to a Leinster final when opposite side of Dublin is like being the best of the tailtean cup candidates. OhtobeARossie (Roscommon) - Posts: 1777 - 11/10/2022 20:47:38 2443645 Link 0 |
Cribben has experience but is his 20 years of Failure. The fact that the highlight of his management was when he was still playing tells you alot of a man touching 60. He led Westmeath to division 4 and made a show of himself in a radio interview. Beaten a few poor Leinster teams is nothing to right home about. To say he is ahead of Fod or indeed O'Brien is absolute rubbish. We may not be competing for all Ireland's but we should be getting a better candidate then him.

Are we currently aware of players who possibly won't return for 2023 whatever the reason I.e. retirement, injury, work, travel?
GaelicStan (Roscommon) - Posts: 10 - 12/10/2022 09:20:51 2443670 Link 0 |
Who exactly won't be returning
dave1988 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1172 - 12/10/2022 10:47:07 2443691 Link 0 |
Tom Cribben is not the man for Roscommon. He got to two leinster finals with two great wins vs Meath and Kildare but overall we really struggled when he was in charge of Westmeath. In the two seasons we got to leinster finals but got relegated from Div 2 and Div 3. Temple56 (Westmeath) - Posts: 526 - 12/10/2022 11:10:38 2443704 Link 0 |
None of the above please! Seems Cribbin not interested. Looking like we're down to Pat Flanagan and AN Other. Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2054 - 12/10/2022 11:43:19 2443718 Link 0 |
My question also
