Replying To GerBo:  "Just wondering what is the situation if Clann B beat Doms on Saturday. Does that mean whoever wins between Castlerea and Faithleach will be promoted to senior and represent Roscommon in the Connacht Intermediate championship?"
I think so.

Just on a different topic as it is now all the one forum a total clearout at roscommon senior level with the exception of the manager. Selectors and goalkeeping coach have departed.

Strong rumour that Donie Buckley has been approached to come on board.

Correct. Clann B can't get promoted to senior. Same happened between Strokestown and Brigid B back in 2010.

Not sure about promotion but yes winners of Castlerea and Faithleachs would represent Roscommon in Connacht.

I've another one, what about in Junior in terms of representing in Connacht? If all B teams win this weekend and winners of Kilglass/Joes are the only 1st team in the SF, even if they lose the SF would they be in Connacht?

Predictions for the weekend

Senior:
St Brigids vs Padraig Pearse - Pearses will try to keep the scoring down to the minimum. Expecting Brigids to get over the line by a point or 2.

Clann vs Roscommon Gaels - clann should have enough fire power up front to break down the gaels defense. Roscommon gaels will pack their defence. Clann by 3.

Intermediate:
Faithleachs vs Castlerea - Castlerea are am improving team but can't see them over coming st Faithleachs. St Faithleachs looks to ve the favourites after over coming Fuerty the last day out. Faithleachs by 3+

St Dominics vs Clann B - Intersting match with more pressure on St dominics than Clann. Expecting it to go down to the wire with St dominics winning by 2 points.

Junior:
Roscommon gaels B vs St Dominics B - Roscommon gaels by 3+

St Joseph's vs Kilglass gaels - Tie of the round in the Junior championship. Expecting kilglass to advance after a battle.

Pearses B vs St Michaels - Hard to call. Pearses for the win.

Brigids B vs Western Gaels - Brigids by 6+. Will take alot to stop them.

Would be good if a clear out has happened. Dowd a Daly have at this stage gave us as much as they could and was time for them to move on.
Not sure on Buckley,he was asked last yer and turned us down. Can't see him coming now when he didn't then and we heading backwards

Yes, it happened a few years ago in Sligo when a losing semi finalists was the Sligo rep in junior championship.

On the topic club provincial championships.

A tough draw for the senior champions where they will likely face the Galway champions in the semi finals.

Intermediate and Junior champions have avoided the Mayo, Galway champions in the semi finals.

Backroom team needed a change anyway. Hopefully he chooses carefully. Buckley would be a good appointment. Wasn't he with Monaghan last year? Surely he hasn't walked away after 1 year

Just on a different topic that is all over the news the last few days. What's everyone's preferred system to the championship next year proposal A or B or go back to normal (super8s/ quarter finals) personally id love to proposal B next year and see how it works out for a 3/4 years.

No trial period for this, what's voted in at Congress in a permanent. Once the Connacht championship is no longer connected to the All ireland series is will die a death.

The Super 8s are scrapped for good. Status quo would be straight knock out quarter final, the best type of format for Roscommon to reach All Ireland semi final.

Everyone will see it different. To be honest I would like a change but I don't see it being passed in a couple of weeks. Proposal B is getting backed by a lot of players who want to play 6/7 competitive games in the summer which will help smaller counties. Also would it keep lads around and play for the summer and not head off traveling.

Anybody else having issues with Ros GAA TV? Paid to watch to Clann B v Doms but it won't come up for me and every time I click on the game, it just refreshes the page.

I'll be surprised if it not voted in and under proposal B Roscommons county season will likely be over in May and half of the 7 league/championship games will be played in April.

The options for those players will be to stick around for club football or spend the summer overseas.

Why would our season be over in may?

Good senior semi final between two good sides. Pearses win by 2 but was the 5 or 6 points the better team. They were superb in the middle 8 led by the excellent Niall Daly and three forward performances by Carey, Payne and Darcy.

The goals out of nothing kept this match in the balance right up to the 9th minute of injury time. Not one of better referee performance and he'd be the first to admit that.

The league/championship system games are scheduled for April and May. For 3 Div 1 teams and 5 in Div 2 the season is over in May.

A natural consequence of the "split season" with AI Final 3rd Sunday July.

Pádraig Pearses v Clann na nGael and St Dominics v St Faithleachs our senior and intermediate finals, two very interesting finals I'm looking forward to both.

Today I took in the double header in a sunny Hyde Park. Faithleachs had the first game won 1st half but Castlerea gave them a scare for 20 minutes in that 2nd half and their momentum was ruined by the 2nd water break. Faithleachs comfortable winners in the end and the Murtagh brothers to the fore as expected.

In the 2nd semi final it was a good competitive contest especially 1st half, quality of the game faded 2nd half as it was very stop start. No question the better side won and 4 point margin about right, Ciaran Lennon once again the stand out player for Clann. A half fit Ultan harney had a good influence on the game also. Richard Hughes, Mark Healy best for the Gaels as they have been all championship.

St Josephs the only first team left standing in the junior A championships so they'll go on to represent Roscommon in the Connacht Junior championship regardless of their semi final result.
