Galway minors well beaten by Mayo in the Connacht semi-final this evening. Yet another very poor year at underage for Galway football. In a complete tailspin at underage level in Connacht now. Is anyone paying attention to this? Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2380 - 02/05/2025 19:47:32 2606347 Link 5 |
Nine point beating for Galway's U17s. Game was level on 52 minutes and Mayo really kicked on in the final 8 minutes of normal time and 3 minutes of added time with two goals and a few two pointers. It's the B All Ireland for Galway's U17s for a 2nd year in a row. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 414 - 02/05/2025 20:12:17 2606350 Link 0 |

I'm paying attention. Not looking good. We've been in 4 Minor All Irelands since 2016 but now struggle in Connacht. What changed? Sigh.

Once again, you really don't understand betting or what a handicap is A spread of -3 does not in any which way mean that the bookies think Galway are going to win by 4 or 5 at least Spreads -2 at Boylesports btw who are the main GAA bookie currently PressureKick (UK) - Posts: 269 - 02/05/2025 21:42:17 2606357 Link 0 |
No minor Connacht since 2018 and no U20 since 2020. Very important who we have over those 2 teams in 2026. I'd be getting Kevin Johnson involved with one or the other smallfrank (Galway) - Posts: 500 - 02/05/2025 22:05:54 2606361 Link 1 |
Ah yeah last years win with ref giving a fluke free ...who even Gough admitted it should have been a free out to mayo .. Everyone hyping up Galway sure not risking your 2 main stars cause you dont need them v us apparetly going on about sam and you won't bottle it this year sure .. you have it sure what's the point in us turning up I wonder .. Armagh brought on Soupy Campbell and Conor Turbitt last weekend. Kerry regularly bring on Tony Brosnan and Killian Spillane

Over reaction? Underage often goes in spells and swings and roundabouts. Since 2018, Mayo, Galway, Roscommon and Sligo have all won 2 u20 titles each. Mayo minors going for 4 in a row minor granted but your seniors are doing the same. The same debate was had in Mayo not long ago. No county can be dominant at underage all the time.

And just to add the game last night was level with 10mins to go, Mayo pulled away with goals ironically when down to 14 due to a black card. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11549 - 03/05/2025 10:51:05 2606391 Link 0 |
Read again I said with 5 minutes left. Of course a sub can make impact if given time to do so

Galway's two main stars are carrying injuries and can't play as far as we know. Both teams progress to the next stage either way and Mayo would/are making a similar choice in these circumstances. Don't think most people on this blog are overly hyping Galway, most are calling it either as a 50:50 game or Galway as slight favourites given the respective semi final performances. Gough said he made a bad call on the winning point free, if he hadn't given it then the game may have gone to extra time and who knows. Mayo didnt exactly tear it up thereafter losing to an out of form and confidence Derry team at home to get knocked out Trucker1 (Galway) - Posts: 421 - 03/05/2025 13:54:18 2606419 Link 1 |
Clare from the Mayogaablog loves responding to me. A fit Comer,Walsh would be involved Sunday. A lucky break for Mayo that both are out and balances out whatever luck you thought Galway got last year. What excuse will you use should Mayo lose to Galway without Comer and Walsh? A win for Mayo and you and the rest of Willie Joe Bloggers will be Mayo for Sam again and helped along with national media to increase the hype.
