You brought up the minor and U20/21 wins, you've ignored the poor transition of underage wins in hurling to Senior success, about 17%, footballers are returning almost 40%. We haven't won an underage hurling title, All Ireland or Provincial since entering the Leinster underage hurling championship and that unfortunately that doesn't look like ending soon. It is a poor return but it shows the early talent is there. The transition to senior players is the issue but we are producing quality player. Why doesn't it look like ending soon? Your right our own county men shouldnt be giving digs at eachother but we are only posters on a forum at the end of a day, what i have a problem with is belcare having a dig at the men who represented our county in the 80s and won 3 all irelands but some smart alike is giving digs at the amount of games they played. Lads will ye drop the hurling Vs football **. Focus on the football here and hurling over on the other thread. It isn't ideal and probably will never be perfect but a combined board make so much sense for a load of reasons. If it was my decision I wouldn't spend another penny on either Tuam or Pearse and Id build a multi-purpose center somewhere close to the motorway - we can dream! The last 5 pages of this thread are embarrassing. The level of pettiness of a few so-called hurling or football people. They always have to run down the other. I've played and coached both hurling and football, and I'm far from alone in that. I've had the joy of seeing Galway win All-Irelands in both, and the heartbreak of losing plenty more. We're all well aware of the terrible decisions made by previous county board executives. Dragging them up again is only going over old ground. In fairness to the current county board, they've made point if trying to ensure equal support for both codes in the county. Things appear to be far better run than they have in the past. There was 8,000 at Galway v Mayo FBD game in 2020 before Prenty and co moved those games indoor where the capacity was under 2000.
