Replying To jm25:  "The main thing I want out of this championship is to find a few new forwards.

Thompson seems to have been the one most hype.

Dunne seems to be going well for Barna.
Sam O'Neill although a midfielder
Is tomo going well after a poor first game

Anyone in intermediate how are the two O's who were on panel last year going ?"
you're a clown that probably doesnt even support his club. looking for new galway forwards its september would ya relax and let the club championship play out. dont be clogging threads with such nonsense

You need to review your assumptions, Mountbellew have a very good U19 team having won minor B last year, Caltra have been very poor in minor B this year and are playing U19C. They've an awful long way to go unfortunately for them and 2004 is long past.

in terms of the business ends i cant see past corofin winning the senior and brendans michaels or caltra winning the intermediate. Caherlistrane look almost sure to be intermediate next year (they just dont have the players and cant afford the likes of darcy to be away) with menlough destined for the drop back to junior as they havent really picked up any good players since hughes who must be pushing on big time.

Replying To Galway_1972:  "What hurling players do St James, Corofin, Tuam Stars and Kilannin have that the game needs to be played on Thursday night? This is a big disadvantage for the teams who played on Sunday that would've picked up knocks and will do well to be recovered. Watched the games in Pearse Stadium this weekend, Moycullen are only in third gear it seems, they had a low scoring game against St James. Good to see Cooke back. Conroy very good for James again. Leteir Moir had a great win against MM in tough conditions and with a man down. They were impressive at times and never backed down, O Gubain was good between the posts utilising nearly as an extra man out the field. O Ceallaigh in midfield and Mac Donncha at 14 were very good for them. Oughterard looked well structured against a poor claregalway team who struggled to get into the game at all. They were a very physical team with all big men in the middle and they can run the ball well. The Monaghan brothers are great runners with the ball. Number 3 and 4 for Oughterard look to be very tight defenders and didn't leave Grainger or Rohan a ball inside. I can see them causing team's problems as they can mix it both ways. Annaghdown looked good and kept the ship steady even when comer went off. They're midfielder is very athletic and came out with a goal against kilannin. Kilannin clawed their way back into the game even though they also were a man down but couldn't close the gap. Darragh Hegarty and Kilcommins looked good for Annaghdown. Roche looks like an up and coming top midfielder for kilannin."
Yes the Monaghan brothers were great, as was Adam Tierney, I think Oughterard will beat Milltown. Completely agree about Maigh Cuillin in third gear - frustrating to watch them, no risks at all, hopefully we will see more pace and intensity in the next few match's. They could beat Corofirn if they can get more speed, more power and Sean kelly gets back in form.

Get out of intermediate first and don't be clogging thread with nonsense around frank fox

Probably haven't been to a Caltra game since 2004.

Replying To Eire89:  "Anti claregalway rubbish sums up what is wrong with ye. Huge population and pick winning plenty of underage & always saying contendets when realistically they have failed on this and in memory have rarely gotten to a QF. Now go back and get ready for the relegation battle and maybe in Jan 2025 ye can talk about being contenders again"
When you resort to insults you have the battle lost. You are most definitely anti Claregalway.

would be great to see a bit of encouragement and support around joyce and his mgmt. the men have done absolute wonders. if you were told wed be in two all irelands out of 3 from were we were and with injuries. dont believe the grass is always greener and we might see more attacking styles next yr. with no o neill and more input from JD whose work in UCD is hugely apparent

Claregalway have made progress over recent years but they have a significant handicap as there is not a strong football tradition in their catchment area, hurling clubs like Turloughmore, Carnmore, Castlegar, have history on their side.It is difficult for any club to make a major break through from under such a reality. They must be commended for their ongoing efforts and given due credit for their achievements.

Jack Grugan of Armagh transferred to Tuam Stars, anybody know the reason or connection to this? Can he play this years championship?

Or maybe if we had a different management team we'd have actually won an AI.
It's just as likely we made the final in spite of PJ rather than because.
Would Dublin have let Armagh win all their kickouts and have a free attack after every miss or score?.. brain-dead stuff never mind all the other cock ups.

Best of luck to them, he will be a great addition to Tuam.

St James by 2 - expect a battle from Kilannin.
Dunmore by 3 - LM are talented but naive.
Tuam by 3- MM are always hard to beat but they just don't have the quality on the pitch. Tuam's new addition is a top player ( How did Moycullen miss out on him!!)
Oughterard by 2.

James' by a point. Conroy will be enough to swing it in their favour.
Leitir Mor to beat Dunmore by a couple of points. Can't see where Dunmore will get enough scores from.
Tuam to edge out Mountbellew but neither team is going anywhere
Oughterard to win by 3. Expect them to kick on a bit after squeaking through the group.
