But plenty of people not playing sport go to gym 3/4 times a week and as an active committe member I was always able to get gym sessions in, so it should not be used an excuse not to contribute to off field activities."
To back your point up, training, games etc are meant to be enjoyable.

That in itself is the reward. That is what all the unseen work in the background is for. To facilitate so players can play, train and enjoy themselves.

If players look at this as a chore maybe they should make a different lifestyle choice that they actually enjoy.

I've been player, committee man, general dogs body and sometimes all 3 together and I know what I preferred!

The only reason I am still helping out now (that I have finished playing) is to give the next generation the chance to play that I was given by the volunteers that went before me.

Maybe you should practice what you preach...... this is the post I replied too....... which you then added your tidbit

No club team in Sligo trains 3 times a week in December. I doubt if any club team in any county does, unless you are at the All Ireland semi final stage with the club

As I stated they do train 3 times a week (if not more) whether it be pitch/gym/friendly. And you agree they do also. So everyone is happy. And with the introduction of 4G/5G pitches teams are spending a lot more time on the pitch as the weather is no longer a relevant factor.

How does this tally with your earlier claim that every club gets enough for its members?

I confirmed that back as far as 2014 the ticket allocation was initially based on registered/paid adult club membership and also season ticket holders, however this doesn't seem to be the case this year, perhaps due to large number of clubs in Galway and higher membership levels.

Most clubs in Ireland do not have 1000 members, more like an average of 300 adult paid members each year, which if this is accurate to Galway club membership, you probably have 24000 paid members, plus ~2000 season ticket holders. So maybe on that basis it was restricted to 150 tickets per club or something like that.

It doesn't as anybody who ever was a G.A.A club member knows very well , there are never nearly half enough when their own county is in the final.

Nearly 60000 tickets given to county boards around the country yet galway and armagh only got 16,000 each i think. In my opinion I think galway and armagh should get 25 k each and then distribute the rest, i know theres neutrals who want to go but the county's participating should get the majority, id hate to see people from the 2 countys missing out on the big day while theres 15k neutrals in croke park, always baffled me

The vast majority of the "neutral" tickets get hovered up by the counties competing. Some dubs couldn't understand when Mayo outnumbered them in a final or two. Fact is Mayo's diaspora around the country and world helped big time to up the Mayo support. Not that the extra support helped the team.

Good luck to both teams this weekend. Nothing like the build up to an all Ireland final. Every day is like Christmas Eve.

I think Galways luck will finally desert them. A bit short in terms of a top team, Armagh by 4.

When the GAA was being redeveloped clubs were given the option to buy 10 year tickets which they can renew each 10 years.

Every man that did umpire during the NFL gets a ticket.
All of the refs get tickets.
Every lad that made the 26 of any match day for any county gets a ticket.
I would say every lad in every provincial council gets a ticket and most county boards.

That has been explained as the Ard Comhairle, it's not just presidents it's GAA and Croke Park staff

Thats the truth i know many a mayo man and their specialty is getting tickets for finals haha, i suppose it comes down to who ya know. Id presume northern tickets will go armaghs way but id guess that vast majority of other co board tickets will find their way west
