If Galway beat Sligo they'll be in a group with the losers of Armagh and Derry, Tyrone and Westmeath. Toughest draw of all the Connacht counties.

Pot 1 is at home to pot 3
Is team 2 the neutral and team 4 away?

This proves draw shouldn't have taken place now as Galway would probably have easier group by losing Sunday

It does make incentive to win ulster final massive as will get a much nicer group

It's all about finishing top. We have a better chance of topping group 2 than group 4 which has the Dubs. 3 teams get out so not massive pressure in that regard.

Personally happy with the draw. Of course its as tough as it could have been nearly but I'm looking forward to some proper championship games and tests and we are definitely going to see where we are at at least.

If we aspire to be at the top table going forward we should be relishing these games after so long in the darkness.

Group 4 doesn't have Dubs

Arguable. Compare our draw and Mayo's. Are Louth better than Westmeath? Probably! Are Kerry better than Tyrone? I'd say so! Are Cork better than Derry or Armagh? No! In overall terms, much of a muchness imo.

I dont agree. Not a bad group at all if we beat Sligo. The groups are fair overall and there is a clear incentive for all teams to try to win their province.

I think the Ulster losers was clearly the worst draw to get from that section. The rest was much of a muchness but Armagh/Derry clearly a level above Clare and Louth.

It's a tough group but we'll be well battle hardened coming out of it..... and we will be third at worst IMO

Assuming we beat Sligo
Tyrone at home
Westmeath away
Derry or Armagh neutral venue (would be great if not in croker. better atmosphere in prov venue)

If we lose to Sligo it is likely as follows:
Kildare at home
Ros away
Dublin neutral ....... wonder where that would be!

Although on paper winning Connacht might look like the worst draw, I firmly believe that going into what looks like a tougher group as winners, chest out etc is much better than losing to D4 Sligo in Conn final and then going away to Ros and Dublin with Kildare capable of an ambush in Salthill against a team that would, no doubt, be on a downer.

If we want to win an All Ireland there is nothing better than playing the best of Ulster. If we get through against them we should fear nobody!

Yeah but Galway could potentially come in as Connacht champions. Mayo are coming in as connacht losers so were due to get a tougher group. As it is, Galways is probably tougher.

The Connacht winners were going to end up with Armagh or Derry, Louth or Clare. So the first option is by far and away the worst

On the other hand, Westmeath were the lowest ranked 'pot4' side, based on NFL ranking.

It was all about who drew the Ulster losers really as it's two quality sides in the final. I don't think the rest of the draw makes much difference really.

I really would like to avoid Galway as they seem to have our number. In saying that I would still fancy us strongly to qualify for the quarters in either group [2 or 4).

Feels strange to be talking about a group before the Connacht final (no disrespect Sligo) but should Galway progress as expected its looking like a testing group though I'd expect Galway to beat Tyrone in Salthill. Away to Armagh or Derry would be tricky but winnable.

Need to top the group as with the schedule and avoid a play off i think the four group winners will win their All-Ireland quarter finals

I think the 3 big teams will all get through alright given how the competition is structured but they'll certainly be very tough games.

Of the Connacht counties Galway are most likely to top their group.

Think Galway would be away to Westmeath. The Armagh/Derry game would be on a neutral ground. Open to correction though.

No disrespect taken. Sligo are comfortable at where they are in their progression. Let's see what Sunday brings
