Liam Silke will not play at all this year, staying in New Zealand.
Cillian is doubtful for Sat, Shane Walsh taking a few weeks off ( whenever that **** show is sorted) .
Tomo is injured along with a few more niggles..
Just an update.

Free taking going to be an issue so. Mayo will have Cillian O'Connor and O'Donoghue. Probably means we will have Finnerty on the close in one's and Tierney for the longer ones. . We missed a few in the 2 games in the dome. Free taking won us that game in Castlebar last summer, couple of 45s made all the difference

Is Tomo's injury serious?

Interesting selection possibilities for Saturday.
-Will Maher get a start potentially with Cooke in midfield? or add in McDaid and have the 3 of them in that general area?
-Will the big guns be back? Presume Comer and John Daly will slot back in.
-But will Sean K, Tierney, Glynn and the other Sigerson lads be playing
-Walsh you would expect to be getting a break
-Ian Burke, he was so so in FBD. we know he has the class but has he still got the ability to produce on the big day. Ideal opportunity to test this
-James Mcl, every passing week he is a week fitter. Probably a bit off this level yet fitness wise but hard to know from the outside

Defensively I worry a bit. If Kelly & Glynn are not available due to sigerson then it is a new fb line and a new keeper. Fitgerald is a serious specimen but looks a bit loose at times. Only way he'll improve is being exposed to higher level. Sweeney has football in him but needs to convince on his defensive doggedness (he has a great right hook as well:-) They could well be up against Ryan O'D & CO'C whcih will test any defense.

Game plan wise we will need to break really fast. Probably a couple of foot passes in a row when we turn over possession. Mayo got everyone behind the ball against the Rossies and didn't rush in looking for turnovers hence they were very hard to break down.

Serious blow that Silke won't be available. Especially with Molloy already out. Think Molloy can probably be replaced but don't think we have another man marker of Silke's quality and experience. Just have to hope someone puts their hand up.

Would be good to credit where you got it. Otherwise just looks like you coming out with rumours.

It's been known since the end of last years championship that Silke wouldn't be available in 2023, sure even his Uncle said it on Galway Bay FM. Joyce as he does "breaks" the news a few days before the league starts to have the national media talking.

Let's not forget Galway reached the NFL Div 1 final and AI semi final in 2018 without Silke and Molloy as starting. Its a more settled Galway team now and expectations will be high to have good league and championship campaigns.

No offence but Billy Coss is a lot more reputable than Hogan Stand poster Belclare. Maybe include where it came from in future.

Given the game is on Saturday, I would say it'll be announced around half 9 tonight.

Belclare.... famed for bias towards what club.....?

Yep you guessed it. Corofin.

I once saw him post that the entire Corofin starting 15 should play a championship game for Galway. Crazy stuff.
