No harm having these U20s in with Seniors. Tipp showed us last year , you arent too old or too young if you are good enough. U20s is a development grade and yes we would love to win a Leinster at best , but id rather lads do what McCarthy did and play both!

Ya the only problem is our u20s are 10 years behind in s&c compared to tipp, Limerick cork etc

Why would you think that? Munster and Leinster counties have split the last 4 finals. Can't say that your team looked any smaller than ours in any of the games we played eachother recently at u20, in any of those years, and we were the same size as Kilkenny and bigger than Offaly. Cork had a taller and bigger team than Offaly too in the final 3 years ago ok.

Walsh Cup is a complete waste of time. Playing young lads in rain, muck and freezing conditions is not giving them a chance. Leave them with their age group rather than giving them a chance that's not a realistic opportunity to play hurling. Develop the young lads please

Are ye Galway bucks worried that yer losing JHC and IHC finals to clubs from non hurling Counties?? Seanfan (Roscommon) - Posts: 238 - 22/11/2025 17:19:42 2645662 Link 0 |

No we are not sorry. Both Galway Teams played the Senior Champions of other counties, neither from Roscommon. Toreen a very strong club and they would hold their own if they played in the Galway Championship. Best of luck to them.

Desperate from our intermediate teams bar Oranmore and TAD. I remember Kinvara and now eyrecourt taking hammerings. Intermediate is division 3 in Galway, but still. Shouldn't be losing to Mayo teams.

Size of fight in the dog had been a more serious missing ingredient in recent Galway u20 sides, than any issues with the size of the dogs in the fight.

Where are the U20's? Haven't heard much about them, are they doing trial matches? Minors have been playing a lot down Glenamaddy and releasing players.

Our Intermediate winners have actually been out 3rd tier champions for the last number of years. Liam Mellows were actually our 2nd tier winners this year, and would have been much stronger the M/E. With next year's restructure, it will be the equivalent of Mellows who will be representing us at Intermediate level in Connacht. Likewise, our Junior champions will also be stronger, due to the long overdue restructure. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2639 - 23/11/2025 10:32:33 2645720 Link 0 |

Being 10 years behind in S&C at U20 suggests they start doing that work at 10 years old, which is obviously nonsense. Kilkenny looked to have a bigger team than Tipp in this year's final. It wasn't S&C that won it for Tipp, it was classy forwards and better hurlers in general. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2639 - 23/11/2025 10:44:40 2645721 Link 0 |

S&C starts at 10? Wow! Hope you're not a math teacher!

I'd be fairly certain we are about to see the worst team ever to play in Leinster with Kildare in next year's competition. Half of their team playing for Naas today and they resembled a junior club side. Woeful poor and won't do anything for them taking a bunch of hammerings from Galway, Kilkenny, Wexford and Dublin next year. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 1028 - 23/11/2025 14:35:36 2645747 Link 0 |

Being 10 years behind means what other counties were at 10 years ago , galway are only at now , leaving them behind the curve ,

And I would hope you are not either , remember what your teacher said , read the problem carefully before you answer…… 10 years behind most successful organisations, and for the record S&c or AD should start in national school with fundamental movement skills , it's not all about kgs

Naas were missing 2 county regulars alogether, 2 more weren't fit to start, and 1 started and had his 1st minutes in a long time, while another only got his 1st minutes as a sub against MLR. I wouldn't be writing them off. If you took 6 county men out of any club side it would affect them pretty badly.
