In fairness, the lads did their best and kept going to the end. Let's all get behind Micheál and look forward to a brighter future.

I presume you mean Joe McDonagh...there's levels of pessimism but you win the prize for it. Take note that we reached a Leinster final this year and we hammered Dublin who are now in the All Ireland semi final.

On the way back from Limerick..awful display . Turned over numerous possessions to hand Tipperary scores. Our management just looked on clueless. Not sure have we made any progress this year and worryingly nothing seems to be coming through to replace those who will undoubtedly be retiring . Where did Oisin Lohan , ml Garvey and josh Ryan all go ? all showed promise earlier in the year. Going to be a lean few years ahead.

I don't know. I thought we we're extremely passive at times. It had all the intensity of a training match.
For a team coming off an insipid performance against Kilkenny, you'd expect lads to be fighting for every ball as though their life depended on it.
Tipo were passing the ball around like a warm-up on a lot of occasions.
We all know we're a long way off at the moment. Massive work needed within the county to improve the development of our players. It's just not happening to the required level for the last number of years.

Replying To Alwaysencourage:  "That's because 3 to 4 years of good players weren't developed while Henry Shefflin wanted to win a quick All Ireland and go back to Kilkenny. No interest in developing galway hurling long term.It will take a very long time to sort this out."
Thats nonsense to put on Henry there was nothing coming through.

MOD selection was mind boggling today

Who are players ignored?

There was about 101 different things MOD could have done after KK and none of them were dropping TJ our 2nd best player this year.

Fleming only forward player with bit of dog not involved.

Concannon should have been hooked before HT got full 70.

Lee is not going to be a 6 and we have very few IC standard forwards so can't afford to move back any who possibly could be.

Sad if that's end of David and Daithi two absolute legends

Surely there are better hurlers in Galway than what we're seeing on the current panel. With the size of the county and its rich hurling pedigree, is this really the best we can offer?
I believe Micheál Donoghue is doing the best he can with the players available to him, but you'd have to believe there's more talent out there somewhere.

No, I asked for games at our level. We aren't ready for the Joe Mc just yet. Yes exactly, Dublin are in the All Ireland semi final. Doubt they were too pressed with that round robin rubbish. Real hurling started today, and the best of luck to them IN THE ALL IRELAND SEMI FINAL

I thought after the Malloy goal we'd make a good run for it. We were 2 points down, had the momentum, the breeze, the crowd, then just faded and Tipp ran away with it. Now that the Championship is over for the Minors, U20s, and the Seniors I hope the powers that be take a good luck up and down the supply chain and fix it. I don't care how many years it takes. Fix it.

Disgusting performance at1-12 v 0-17 I was saying lovely let's drive on...and they just wilted!!!
As one lad said....there is more enjoyment looking at the cows in the field than that s##t on the television.

Tipp weren't great either but Galway were atrocious. Turning the ball over like you wouldn't see in a junior C match. I was hoping for a Galway win and even at half time thought they would storm in to it.

To quote Ger Loughnane, constipated hurling. I don't want to be unfair, but a lot of the fundamentals have been missing from our last two performances. Some of those fundamentals require very little technical coaching.

OMG... It had to be the worst Galway performance ever. They've gone backwards since last year. I actually felt sorry for the players. It's not their fault they're just not at the level. Cherish the memories of Galways All Ireland wins because it will be a long time before Liam resides in the west again.

To be fair, those desperate consecutive wides early in the second half sucked the momentum out of the team and the game. Our first goal proved to be a flash in the pan.

I said it way back at the start of this year, we had not a hope in hell of winning the All Ireland so we should look to develop, develop, develop with a view to being properly competitive in a few years. They bottled that with the team selection in my view as the year went on going back to the lads we have tried and tried before. J Ryan who has that key ingredient pace got minimal proper game time After the league. No way Brennan or Fleming should have been dropped if we are serious about developing moving forward. I've great time for Conor Cooney but if we really looking for the future, Fleming should have been in there. That was a real short term decision .
Killeen's form wasn't great to be fair but again if you are looking at a new team you stick with him or give Rory Burke a shot. Burns, McLaughlin and Molloy all seemed to be in contention for the one spot but I don't see why Concannon or Whelan based on current form are so automatic so for me. Who knows if you dropped one of them you might rattle them to get them back to what we know they can be. The only automatic forward I can see based on current form is Mannion.

We have to look at Niland again and Collins. In my view for development where we are now you pick a team to have a deliberate mix of senior lads to steady the ship ( maybe for example Daithi Burke, P Mannion, David Burke, C Mannion, C Whelan), mid experience range lads ( D Fahy, Morrissey, C Fahy, G Lee, Concannon or Monaghan) and newish lads, ( for example Ryan, Brennan, Burke, Molloy, Burns) .
We have good players but we desperately need to develop them .

You knew at the end of last year you needed to rebuild. I think you did well to see a Leinster final and all Ireland quarter
