Galway Hurling thread

The team without any game plan not being able to utilise an extra man?... Sounds about right.

What an absolute farce, even took a pasting when they were a man down.

Honestly just hope Dublin or Antrim finish us off so we can get a clean break from Shefflin and take proper stock of what needs to change.
No point of us limping into a quarter or semi and thinking he's worth giving another year too.

Shame on the county board for persisting with either manager, two all time great players but completely out of their depth in management and we just wasted another year with both in charge as neither have shown any sort of progress.

I've never felt so disillusioned with our hurlers, I always felt we could win the AI but the last three years have sucked the enjoyment out of it watching this low percentage crap.

Yup. Wexford deserved the win. We looked like SH-T.

Wexford are a poor side, badly coached, average talent. If Galway can't get a convincing win then it might be curtains!"
It looks like curtains so. Anyone who's followed hurling for the last few years knows exactly what Wexford are capable of. With their backs to the wall they've turned over Kilkenny in the past 2 years.
Very poor stuff from Galway today. I had no great hopes going in to today. We were so loose against Kilkenny where they picked off so many scores under little pressure. We conceded another very big score today and it should have been more.
Cleaned out of it on our own puckouts.
Big pressure on the Dublin game now.

Good to see our average, badly train led team beat your average, badly trained team by 8 points.

No need to gloat - Galway were brutal but Wexford are no world beaters either in fairness.

I think we both know that a rampant Galway could absolutely hammer them but we also both know Galway could make hard work of the win too!
So I will go for Galway to win by 7pts or more!"
"could absolutely hammer"? You were right about that but you just made one huge faux pas. You got the teams wrong way around. It is always nice to see a smart alec get her comeuppance!

Well Wexford were fired up! Galway had to answer to that. Fair play to them, their season was on the line and they did what they needed to do. Well deserved win.

Where to for Galway and Henry? We are going backwards.

Sorry to let you down Cockney Cat - you losing your bet is what has been the saddest thing about all this shambles! lol

Whole Galway thread was slating Wexford, glad we won, about time we beat you.

The beloved Man City to win plus Leinster-16 double
should make up for Galway slip up.

Wow Galway were terrible today, but the win is more important for Wexford.
Still expecting Galway to win last two games and get to Leinster Final on 7pts.
Wexford most likely will loose to Kilkenny and won't even get 3rd place as I expect Antrim to beat Dublin and finish with 6pts.

If Wexford beat Carlow (which we should but it is Wexford we are talking about so anything could happen)

Then last day out we play a kilkenny that will already be in a final. If both Wexford and Galway finish on 7 then wouldn't Wexford have the head to head unless there are more than 2 teams on head to head

No it wasn't. One comment that said Galway would win easily. Look at your own thread. Plenty of comments along the lines of how average Galway are [and we are]. Notwithstanding today's result, you're no world beaters either.

Probably a bit reactionary but without questioning Henrys commitment to the job, it was always a practice run for managing kilkenny, (not that that will be happening anytime soon).
Davy Fitz is a mercenary but he's a good motivator and has always managed to get teams he's managed to play to their potential if even for a couple of seasons (it usually fizzles out after a few years) and we should have given him the gig when he was available.

If Wexford beat Kilkenny the last day then Galway, Kilkenny and Wexford would finish on 7pts
