Replying To Trump2020:  "Since Johnathan Glynn didn't play any League Matches is it realistic that he will start come Championship time?"
Hard to know. The question is, is he part of our championship plans at all? When he joined the lads for training some weeks ago it was specifically stated that it was "unofficial" and he was not being added to the panel at that stage. Next we heard is he went back to NY with a suggestion that he might return for a few months this summer to coincide with the start of the inter-county championship and stay on for the club championship. So it's as clear as mud. I often wonder what do the local media be doing , they never seem to try to get answers to questions that are in the minds of Galway GAA fans. You can imagine if this was a story about a Dublin footballer returning to the Dublin football panel there would be an up to date report on it every day.

Yeah it's hard to know. He'd be a nice weapon off the bench along with Jason Flynn late in matches if he didn't start.

Dunno about that, Cluxtons return was a bolt out of the blue. Mannion and McCaffrey came back without any real notice too

Hmmmmm interesting. If he does NOT play I wonder if he's jockeying for some kind of coaching position.

U20s beat Cork fairly handily in last challenge game before championship. Shaping up to be a strong side. They will be at a bit of a disadvantage in playing Offaly in Tullamore and Offaly will have a championship game already played at that stage.

It won't matter. You can lose both group games and still will go through.

Good sign for ye, would have had Cork as All Ireland favourites.

Good sensible decision between Galway and Wexford GAA to have both senior and u20 games as a doubleheader down in Wexford. Hopefully brings a decent crowd for the young lads

They have played each other twice in challenges. Both sides won at home with players missing on the other side so can't read too much into it. I'd be very surprised if they didn't win Munster at a canter.

Just as a heads up will be an hour gap between the 2 games with 1.30 and 4 starts, reason is the dressing rooms in Wexford Park have become outdated and are too small now for intercounty double headers, Wexford senior hurlers and footballers haven't played a double header since 2019, minors will have to be out of the dressing rooms in due time for the Seniors, dressing rooms are being upgraded later in the year.

Two fairly surprising scores in the u20. Offaly scraping over Dublin when they would have been expected to win handy enough. Screeney missed an awful lot. Kilkenny hammered Wexford, hard to know where those two are at. Kilkenny might have improved from minor but their last three minor teams were average enough. Will see what our lads are like next Saturday in Tullamore.

Not that surprising really is it? Offaly were All Ireland finalists last year but how many of the players that got them there are underage this year? They have a small hurling population to pick from so even replacing a few of those no longer eligible with players of the same quality might not be easy. Dublin on the other hand would have a bigger pick to choose from and the more talented of what they have wont be lost to gaelic football yet. As for Kilkenny beating Wexford, that's the usual norm at all levels (though not at senior recently)

Dublin are always good underage. They have massive numbers. Good few of their lads were on the Dublin team that beat us and yourselves last year at u20. And they only lost by 4 points to Offaly in the Leinster SF last year. We were woefully set up this afternoon. Missing a few with injury too. We need to do alot of work before the knockout phase begins.

We beat them twice at u20 last year, including the Leinster semi final, though granted they beat us the year before in the Leinster final by a point.

11/8 favourites to win the Leinster u20. Kilkenny 9/4 and Offaly 5/2. 14-1 and bigger the rest.
