Replying To tommy k:  "I see you didn't respond to me saying Galway have been in 10 Leinster finals winning 3 since joining in 2009. In that time Dublin have been in 4 winning 1 and Wexford in 2 winning 1. Contrast that to before Galway joined when Wexford were in 8 Leinster finals in a row since 2001 and only won 1. My point is that you have already stated a few times that Galway have not added to the competitiveness in Leinster and I am simply pointing out that you are completely wrong in that assertion by giving you the statistics since Galway joined in 2009 but of course everyone is entitled to their opinion!"
I did Tommy. I'm trying my best to keep up with you! Over on our thread some of the lads reckon I post too much:-D

On topic of course you have added competitiveness I'm not saying you haven't. But in the last 7 years that's probably been at our expense rather than Kilkennys.

Come on Viking, 1 win out of 8 Leinster finals before Galway's arrival. How can you say at Wexford's expense, selecting one year during Cody's reign! Galway were quite competitive, not just in Leinster. From the time they went into Leinster up to 2018, Galway and Tipp were the only 2 counties that put it up to Cody. Galway played in 2 AIFs v Cody and one of them went to a replay. They got beaten by a point by the eventual winners, Tipp, in the 2016 AISF, Galway won in 2017 AI and went within a whisker of another AIF replay in 2018.

Dublin beat Wexford Kilkenny and Galway in 13. Clare won the all Ireland beating cork in the final.

He wants to give the other lads a chance to prove themselves before rolling out the artillery for the big one against Tipperary!

I already said we were dire from 2009 up until 2016. Something like you were in the late 60s early 70s I think I said. But since then you won in 2017 at our expense, we beat Kilkenny and you beat us in the final, we would've been in the Leinster final in 2022 if you weren't in the province, and you beat us in 2020 also. We should've made the final in 2021 also but it wasn't your fault we didn't.

You should've won several other AIs earlier in the decade along with the ones in 2016 and 2018 with the team you had then tbh Baire.

Your spot on viking.......since Galway came into Leinster We have won SFA and its sicking to the gills to think of all the Leinster titles and All Irelands we left behind..... I reckon at least 5 Leinster and 4 All Irelands could have been added!

It was at Wexford's expense the whole time really. We used to nearly get to the final by default.

I'm glad it happened though. it was used an an excuse here for a long time. Sure aren't we in the final every year and the aiqf we're not doing too bad.

The point is Galway have benefited from Leinster.

It's a combination of Galway coming, Kilkenny regressing, and Wexford and Dublin closing the gap a bit

You have had a really good team that in other eras like the 80s would likely have won much more, which you did with your last great team at that time. You were a little unlucky this time that you overlapped with the tailend of the great Kilkenny team, Tipps best team since the 60s, and now the big green machine.

Yep! Like every year at this time of the season I'm hopeful for the year ahead Baire. Most years we win SFA but every so often we come good! Hopefully it will be one of those good years!

Galway may have benefitted from Leinster but Leinster have certainly benefitted from Galway and Galway have not been made feel welcome by many counties. For instance its only very recently that Galway were granted home games, their underage teams allowed to participate in the Leinster championship and a fairer share of the money generated.

Ah Tommy leave it so. You have had home games for a good few years now, and all your teams are in Leinster now. I agree that should've happened from the start but that cuts 2 ways. Apparently at the start your Board wanted the Senior team in Leinster to help them win AIs. They didn't care if the minors were admitted or not as they were winning AIs anyway. From 1999-2009 Galway reached 9 AI minor finals, winning 5.

And what did you expect?
Would Sligo,Leitrim and even Roscommon welcome Cork or Tyrone into the Connacht football championship.Offaly won All Ireland's on the back of winning Leinster a very unlikely event today.

They won a Hurling in '98, without winning a Leinster Championship.

A few goals and no injuries are the main priorities for today. Get minutes into a few lads before Tipp next week.

1st team to do that. Win an AI after not winning their provincial title. Kilkenny, Tipp, Clare and Limerick have achieved it since. Tipp, Clare and Limerick achieved it without even reaching their provincial finals in years they won the AI.

Cork also did it sorry but not after not reaching a provincial final.
