I don't think he will have a choice. He can't play 6 and there are loads more options for 5 and 7 than there are for wing forward.

Suprised considering his goal scoring record.

You'd imagine that Mannion, Daithi, Morrissey and Fintan all start so that would only leave one spot between Jack Grealish, McInerney, Shane Cooney, TJ Brennan, Tiernan Killeen and all the other young lads. At least it frees up Joe Cooney to go back to wing forward."
I think it will be between Shane Cooney and Tiernan Killen, Mcinerny isn't good enough Gillane destroyed him in the AI semi last yr and Grealish isn't physical enough for this level imo but Shefflin seems to rate him.

He won an All-Ireland medal playing as a forward - didn't hear him complaining that year.

Deccie McLoughlin looking sharp in first half. McManus at nothing in the full forward line. Gavin Lee probably the other standout at midfield. Puck outs have been sloppy. Expect to see a more clinical second half. Interesting from sideline that Eamon O'Shea seems to be giving a lot of the instructions.

Noticeable change of emphasis with O'Shea coaching that forward line to go for goals. Even when they had handy points on they were playing short passes for goals. Scored six today and it could have been ten with the missed penalty and goalie saving a couple. Five goals last week in 55 mins. Hopefully get another two games in Walsh Cup for the young lads and then go on into the league.

I was very happy with Galways hunger for goals against both Offaly and Laois. And this is without the likes of Conor Whelan and Brian Concannon, etc. Hon Galway.

Ah now, come on. It's January and they were playing Laois. Dont lose the run of yourself. Goals are almost as easily got as points against weak opposition so of course they'll go for them. It's nice to think we might have a messiah in our midst but I'll remind you that O'Shea didnt set the world on fire as manager of Tipp between 2012 and 2015 and I'll also remind you there was no better man for sniffing goals than Shefflin when he was in his prime. Which is not to say that he's the reason they are going for goals!

It's January and also the opposition aint great. They are the 2 things to keep in mind.

Surely this cannot be the case ? Not even the GAA could be that blind to schedule a Galway intercounty hurling game the same day as 1 of their own clubs in playing an all ireland final ?

Was thinking the same. It's at 1.30. They did same with Armagh and Cullyhanna yesterday.

Expected attendance is one man and his dog. What a stupid time to schedule the match for.

Is there a time given for the Parnell Park game? Would it be possible to attend both?

1.30 almost certain... Not confirmed yet by DCB as Leinster council sets times, but 1.30 start for all, and all dates and times immutable! Won't reschedule the postponed Westmeath/Antrim game either.

I was hoping to watch the club final over a few pints in Craobh afterwards, but would be tight one to get to CP after. Not impossible mind you and buses go close and are regular.
