You may be mixing him up with Galvin who came on to shoot two points.... but between Reidy's start and Galvin's finish plenty of solid in between! In hindsight its a pity he tinkered with team set up v Cork or "other" League game even though he wanted to try out new players, BUT we missed a right good chance to top our group and get into League Semi Finals!!! I travelled to Ennis in anticipation of a good game of hurling. I came away a little frustrated. Galway started to play after 15mins and totally took over the game. Clare, I thought were very poor. No plan B and if anything they look a little tired. Once Galway got on top of the quick ball into the there inside forwards, game over. Some good displays from a Galway perspective. I wouldnt be an expert on hurling but as a Galway supporter I was probably in the minority when i say that i didn't switch to the rugby until the hurling was over. This may be a personal observation but there is something about Galway hurling and I wonder if hurling people ( and as I've said I'm not one) would agree with me. In terms of pace , power, shooting, stickwork Galway are on par with anyone ( the exception obviously being Limerick's power). But the area that I think we are well behind is ball handling. Too many times I see Galway players fumbling ball , failing to catch simple 30 yard passes, really bad on catching long high balls. Maybe its just me but I would be very surprised if there was a "fumble / mis-catch stat" that we would be miles behind the Kilkenny's of this world in that regard. If I'm correct what's the root cause. Do we not do enough work against the ball walls or pucking the ball long to each other in the fields.
