I'm excited too. Plenty of great matches ahead. Hopefully no major injuries and just great hurling.

Got to admire your never ending optimism Katser. Have you Mayo blood in you?

I'm sure you'd like that to be true but don't write us off just yet!

I have a feeling of déjà vu.

Nobody is writing Galway off- they have been Limericks closest opponents for the past five years. but on three occasions they have just come up that bit short, and in other games, as admitted by some of your fellow Galway, they lack a bit of consistency. In every last year Limerick had it put up to them, except possibly the Cork game, and on each occasion they answered the call. If Galway can get that kind on consistency going they will be hard to stop.

In fairness I think Kilkenny are that little bit better than ye. Galway seem to crumble a bit under any expectation whereas KK pretty much always hit at 95% performance levels or more when required

No, I think he is actually a Limerick man, who wont admit it, like a certain Limerick man living out in Nenagh, who often writes to the papers.

What is it with all the Limerick supporters on a Galway hurling thread throwing out a few digs and veiled "compliments"? Must be very quiet over on the Limerick page or else they are worried about us as per usual! tommy k (Galway) - Posts: 3470 - 02/02/2023 10:55:15 2455935 Link 3 |
Oh No Tommy, nothing 'veiled'about the compliments. They are truly heartfelt. On our own site we are keeping our powder dry and not making wild predictions. It is all to play for.

I am not making "wild predictions" either! Who are you referring to?

Maybe, yet Kilkenny haven't won Liam in 8 years now, and they haven't near the amount of players coming off the production lines that Galway have currently. (Unlike Galway, they never led Limerick in the championship meeting last year, and unlike Galway also, didn't have a solid HB line). They do have a habit of playing above themselves and being greater than the sum of their parts. I'll grant you that.

No Tommy, I did not say YOU did, but somebody else did. After all it is only early February and there is a lot of things can happen before mid July.

It's not about KK, Galway, Tipp, Waterford, Wexford, Clare, Cork or Dublin - it's all about the lady with the 3 in a row and her ginormous hurlers! Talk of any other county winning the All Ireland this year is wishful thinking imo. baire (Galway) - Posts: 1849 - 02/02/2023 14:27:04 2456022 Link 2 |
You are surely not putting pass on Katsers predictions OTM?!!!!

As you said earlier OTM katser may well be a Limerick man living in Nenagh so I would not be placing such high importance on his statements!

Let's anticipate a good away win to the yellow bellys ( there are bigger fish to put onto the flying pan) then Cork at home.....would set us up lovely for a home game v "that crowd " then with 6pts on the board a trip to Ennis to play our old friends in a belter of a game!

Well Baire, Clare, KK and the Maroon Boys gave us plenty of it last year and after five years at or near the top there is always the danger of a slippage. For what it is worth, sooner or later Galway, I feel, will be the boys to take us down. If we are out I'd love to see Waterford win at least one, but I just think their day might be past for now. Otherwise anybody but any of the Big Three.

I hope you're right but they'll be nothing soft down in Wexford. They're very hungry too. Galway Abu!

Why do any of ye give Katser the attention he or she craves... TerribleFootwork (Wexford) - Posts: 1760 - 02/02/2023 16:54:14 2456061 Link 2 |
Be nice to beat ye again Katser like this time last year but I think for us it's more important to give the newer players some time marking your big bruisers and get them used to playing the big, and very skilful I might add, lumps of lads that we just don't have many of down here!
