Sure why not wait until 1925 altogether and bring the same jersey out for the footballers and hurlers to commemorate their respective inaugural AI wins, and save the fans money by not having to fork out for two different jerseys? Two different jerseys for the same county in GAA makes no sense.

What about the hurling fans who wouldnt be seen dead wearing a gaelic football jersey?

To them I simply say "GALWAY ABU".

you cannot have the same jersey as the teams wore different colours in those times. SixtiesKid (Galway) - Posts: 338 - 20/01/2023 15:18:08 2453234 Link 1 |
Be interesting to see what team Shefflin puts out through to the Walsh Cup final so will be very experimental. Maroonforever (Galway) - Posts: 414 - 20/01/2023 15:58:10 2453246 Link 1 |
He might be small but you can't teach class. Liam Collins 0-06 from play on his senior debut yesterday. Didn't miss a shot and strikes well off both sides. Hopefully he gets a few games in the league. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 828 - 22/01/2023 10:26:06 2453369 Link 2 |
Good win for Galway over Antrim. Nice to see new blood getting a chance. The deeper the Galway Hurling team is the better their chances against physical teams with deep benches like Limerick. The Wexford hurlers will be a great test for Galway, nothing easy there. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2388 - 23/01/2023 15:11:00 2453686 Link 0 |
We play them 2 weeks in a row now I think, in Walsh Cup and League. The league game is the most interesting from a Galway perspective because it's taking place in Wexford Park. Away games tend to be that bit tougher and therefore more revealing. Probably 2 completely different teams fielded by both sides in each game I'd say!

Imagine so. Think we have used 34 players so far in the Walsh Cup. I'd also imagine Egan and Shefflin will be keeping a good few cards up their sleeves til Salthill. Even so it should be a great test for some of the newer lads on both panels, especially the game in Wexford Park. Apparently every hotel room is booked in Wexford Town the night of the 4th. Must be a good shot of ye coming down!

Wexford County Board contacted Leinster Council with regard to the league game possibly doubling up as the Walsh Cup final.

No thanks....no harm playing ye twice in 6days! Unless ye surrender league home advantage and get the two birds with the one stone in Tullamore? katser (Galway) - Posts: 2522 - 23/01/2023 17:20:53 2453754 Link 2 |
Leave your trolling for the Limerick lads...

Still rooms available in the Whitford (nice spot) so don't think they're completely booked out.

Whitford a little out of town like the Maldron. Good spot for food though!

Yes he was a great hurler but also a great family man and his love of his late mother was very moving. tommy k (Galway) - Posts: 3470 - 27/01/2023 10:22:01 2454499 Link 1 |
Joe's father is also a great character and Ollie looked like he could still be hurling for Galway! tommy k (Galway) - Posts: 3470 - 27/01/2023 10:23:53 2454500 Link 1 |

I saw it and it's very good....its hard to believe that Oillie wore a 6yr olds helmet in the '94 All Ireland Minor Final!! Joe was 6 and gave aloan of his helmet to Ollie!! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2522 - 28/01/2023 13:56:14 2454723 Link 1 |
