That's very true, I'd forgotten to mention how the Gap in Ulster has also gotten smaller, Dunloy are a fine team and a club with as fine a history in the all Ireland series as any club (4 final appearance) but I think Slaughtneil might have one last kick in them and probably see this year's route as their best shot at getting to Croke Park. Still think Thomas's would have enough for either side.

I cant see them having two handy wins to get there but not a bad bet if you can find those odds. 6/1 is what i'm seeing now. I think people are foolish to rule out Ballyhea in Munster. They seem to thrive in winter conditions. With the amount of rain that has fallen I'd imagine Thomas' might be the last team to cherish the conditions between them, Loughrea and the Ulster champions. Hey you're right about not ruling out Ballyea but Ballygunner have to be red hot favorites for Munster.

Its funny to read people say theyd have been happy with last year. This is a team who won Waterfords first club AI (if i am right in saying that?) and with the talent they have available have always been labeled a tram who always come up short outside of Waterford. Not only will they want to retain the Tommy Moore theyd want to add a few on the trot! Was that 8 or 9 in a row they done in Waterford this year?

In all fairness I can't remember the last time a tipp club won the All Ireland! You probably arent old enough to remember or maybe only started following hurling when Galway started competing in them...! A fairly poor record though to be fair. Both in Munster and the All Ireland series. Amazingly only 4 Tipp clubs have reached the final - and all from the North division. All Munster counties combined have almost the same as Galway. Maybe theres something to be said for the set up of the club championships. Fair enough but being the Tipp Champions means they had to play other teams in Tipp that had great players and so it shocked me not that they lost but the margin of victory.

I'd say it'll be closer than that. While I favor Thomas's I wouldn't fall off my barstool if Loughrea pulled the upset. Thomas's by a point I'd say.

Another county title for Thomas's you mean, it'd be theirs and theirs alone. Once again this whole South vs East thing, no one cares about that part of it at all. That hasn't been relevant since the 70s when they got rid of it. I hardly think Ardrahan or Gort will care about a victory for South galway if Thomas's win. Neighbour's will always be rivals and clubs you play often but making out this South board vs east board things is relevant is tiresome. Clubs only care about how they're getting on themselves and don't look further than that, we're all Galway too, you think people in Kilkenny care that Ballyhale are a South Kilkenny club or whatever, so stupid and irrelevant.

I doubt its very relevant in Galway. Given the divisional championships is still a big part of things in Tipp at all levels, then its probably different but I've never heard of it being a thing in Galway in my time anyway.
