Replying To Lockjaw:  "In other news it looks like Jim is going to take up the reins in Down along with Laverty & Clarke. That's a very interesting and exciting managerial ticket. Just a shame we can't have Jim involved in our own setup, even if it was in a coaching capacity."
As if Ulster wasn't tough enough and now this. Obviously serious money in the background in Down when they were able to have Boylan with their under twenties and now this. Personally speaking really disappointing news. Donegal really need that extra psychological edge that Jim would bring. It would appear that Jim was open to coming back to the GAA world after all. Monumental F up that its not with Donegal. The pressure on the current management set up has just gone up a level. Speaking of which who is the guy with the beard pictured recently with Declan and Stephen at recent club games?

Must be big backers in down to afford a man of Jim's calibre. It'll no down excuse the pun with some of the down fans.

Wee question Panama you cudnt have been too impressed with your own club at the weekend.. playing no sweeper against the breeze in the first half was a tad strange. Also what's the story with Jason Mc gee is he carrying an injury.

Jim got one All Ireland with Donegal, should have got more with that team. Since then he has not achieved much with any team he was with, at present he is part of Derry City under 19 team, bot a very big job . Think his best days are behind him.

Well they had Boylan as part of their under twenties set up so obviously the case much like Louth. Didn't you say Jim was never coming back? Just a shame its not with Donegal which is no surprise given our overall incompetence in such things despite eventually getting some of the structures right.

Typical of this county, there was a fella always telling us on the old Donegal forum that no way was Jim interested in managing GAA again, roryboys I think it was,
I have great time for Declan but the man should have been gone after that horror show against Cavan last year,
I have very little confidence that this current talented Donegal team are going to achieve their potential under Bonner & co.
Jim was the man we needed back in charge, I guess his face never fitted with the powers that be in this county despite all he achieved,

Dr Ciaran Kearney? He's joined the panel of late, my understanding is that he's focusing on the psychological end of things.

Thanks for sharing. No idea who he is just seen him sitting with Rochford and Bonner at a couple of the games.

That's your psychologist in now then. We'll see how that works. Impressive reports about this guy.

You were saying don't believe everything you read. Always rather a reliable source

Ha Ha well it looks like the media has been duped. I am relieved that he is not coming on with another county especially an Ulster one. However as long as he is around rumours will persist.

I wasn't at all and posted as much here rorys. The goal had a huge element of luck and not even sure about either of the penalty decisions though I do think the foul on Jason probably was. Sean Maguire had been playing a little deeper but was more forward at the weekend. As for Jason he just needs games after so much inactivity. He was in and out of the game at the weekend but still had a huge influence between his off the ground efforts and winning a pen. He has been very closely marked to to which Dungloe deserved credit. I really feel Cloughaneely will need John Fitzgerald to be able to start at the weekend. In saying that I don't expect such a poor performance again in the replay.

My sources were here and nearly every other sports outlet that reported it yesterday. There is no smoke without fire whatever has gone on.

He says in paper today he was asked by a few counties to come on board as a manager or as a coach. Who's to say Donegal weren't one of them. He says out of respect he spoke to them all presumably that's where the down story came out of but he did say soccer is his main aim now.

Well I'm glad he's not going to Down. I'm still holding out hope we'll get him back to manage Donegal at some stage,
suppose the next rumour we'll hear is that Jim and Roy Keane are going in to take over from Ole at Man Utd, you hear it here first lol.

Hi panamasam: How many games did you see the management at?

Hi AM hope you're keeping well. I seen the management at Gweedore NC, Kilcar NC and the final last weekend. I imagine there was alot more than that as Declan himself is as likely to pop up at a schools soccer or gaelic match or a gaeltacht championship match as he is a high profile club championship game.

Well good luck to him whatever path he takes but I am glad this hasn't happened. He was coaching in Louth and a couple of sessions with Galway so not like he hasn't dipped his toes. Whatever went on with Down you certainly won't get the full story in the press. As for speaking to Donegal I seriously doubt it as I am sure if Rochford got wind of such he wouldn't commit again.
