Replying To tirawleybaron:  "Dublin are a long way from finished.
Mayo only got to extra time because the Dubs stopped playing and were handpassing around in their own square.

They will learn from that and be back again. Could still win 50% of the next ten all Irelands"
I hear you, but that first win is always seismic, and they had to do it with a ref being very poor and against them. these things tend to open the floodgates a bit, and show other counties that they are actually human and fallible. They'll absolutely still be there and abouts, but do think they'll come back into teh pack a bit. They simply don't seem to have the players of before...

It' a huge win without a doubt and I think Mayo probably profited from a few poor decisions also.

I don't think we can get away from the fact though that Dublin haven't been as poor in the last ten years as this year.

As I've pointed out and I agree with you, this is Dublin regressing and a huge period of rebuilding coming up. It's not that the other counties have reached the Dubs level of the last 6 years. The players that are now coming in off the bench for example just aren't of the standard of the last few years.

Mayo beating Dublin at the weekend isn't a shock.

"Ref being poor against them"

Stop with this nonsense now.

Lane wasn't? Seem to feel he missed at least 3 if not 4 Dublin red cards, and a certain black card. Oh no doubt he turned the tide a little with a handy free or so in extra time, but he was no friend of theirs in normal time and they could easily have been out and beat and wouldn't have got that chance in extra time...

Lane missed the Small red, but so did 100s of others including Deegan. Gave them a handy free for Comerford overcarrying when he didn't to bring them within a point at the death, and then allowed the crucial missed 45 to be retaken, bring the game to extra time.

Mayo deserved the win due to their far superior approach and execution in the second half, but saying they won it despite the ref? It doesn't stack up.

Ironically, there's an argument to say that had Small been sent of (as he should have) it may have jolted Dublin out of their zombie approach to the second half. They were still 4 points up at that stage.

At the end of the day Mayo deserved their bit of luck and who would begrudge them. I sincerely hope they make it count, knuckle down now and realise they won nothing yet. Bragging rights over the Dubs yes but the big won awaits and I wish them all the luck on the world.

Bro, you got away with at least 3 reds and a textbook black card. A few handy frees in extra time doesn't equate. And the 45 was all your own fault in Philly crossing over. He knew what he was doing, so blame your own camp there. My point stands, as a neutral the ref was hard on Mayo and very easy on Dublin by any measure in normal time on the cards. Back down a bit, there's a good fella.

Read the first paragraph again. Nothing to do with extra time.

Also, that was not what the 45 was retaken for.

Read up before you start spouting, there's a good fella.

The retaken free was not because of Philly crossing over it was because Mayo had 16 on the pitch. I think it was Coen that hadn't cleared the pitch as a sub.
